I'll be speaking to the South Jersey PDA group this evening. (location and directions at bottom of article) so I'm thinking even more than usual about impeachment. Some thoughts;
I want Bush out... and before him Cheney.
They:
are criminals of the worst kind-- whether direct or indirect, they have causes the deaths of hundreds of thousands.
have trashed and violated the constitution.
have assailed and weakened the rights and freedoms of Americans.
have colluded with corporations-- many of them non-american-- at the expense of America-- American industry, American Jobs.
have done all they could to remove or weaken regulations and laws that protect humans, workers, the environment, health, safety...
have done all they could to destroy, shrink and weaken government and what it stands for, which includes homeland security, education, police, fire departments, libraries, roads, infrastructure...
These monsters don't just deserve to be easily let off the hook with resignations.
They deserve to be indicted, prosecuted convicted and sentenced to serve serious time in non-plush prison.
They deserve to have all the rewards taken away from them the they have gotten because of their illegal and corrupt actions, starting with their illegal appointment to office by the Supreme court.
What if there is an even bigger, a huge, massive landslide in the 2008 Election?
Now, there are those who say that there are not enough votes in the senate to convict them if they are impeached in the house. That may be true now. But we must move forward with impeachment ON the table.
We must do more of what is being done-- more hearings, more subpoenas, more confrontations with the executive branch.
The public must see that this is a rogue administration. Finally, the media are showing this, reporting it-- not doing a great job, but they're getting started.

It seems to me that people peddling impeachment should know the ground rules – in this article you’re talking about impeaching Bush, after Cheney.
Impeachment of the President of the United States is a little different than impeaching other federal officials. At the impeachment hearing the Chief Justice of the United States Supreme Court presides, which basically means SC Justice John Roberts will call the shots as far as what evidence is presented, what witnesses are heard, etc.
Do you really think Bush is going to be impeached with Roberts at the helm?
What you might succeed in doing is raising public awareness on the subject of impeachment [allegations], and you might even make a name for yourself while you’re doing it, but do you really want to be known as the person that launched a ship to nowhere?

still workd on a principle that whoever wants something has a chance to win it. But wanting to ' get rid of' is not really wanting. Until an alternative is presented no one will go for it. So:
1. There has to be a statement that impeachment is good not only because we get rid of those monsters but also because we let in someone good and useful. Who?
2. It has to be initiated from the right- from Buchanan group. They and only they can start it. No one else.
3. It has to be done under Bush the AntiChrist umbrella and that means someone from the religious area has to say it. I am not kidding- that's vital.
Then there is a chance.

Time for Bush and Cheney et al, to write their books.
Seem a bit frantic there Rob. I've been singing this song for years. The republifucks have arranged things in such a way that there is likely no Constitutional way to get them. Pelosi is to scared. It follows that terminating their command, all of them, with extreme prejudice may be the only solution. It IS the only solution from where I stand.

A couple of do not's. Do not waste time, reminding ourselves of how oppressed we've been since 2000, because most citizens are waiting for us to help them give out some new message. And do not put down any Congressperson, regardless of which house or party, because the easy way to impeach is through the way used in the past.
Now To Dos. The usual habit of blogging, attending meetings, reading articles, etc. should be continued. Now the thrust should be on reaching people, meaning reaching their feelings as well as their ears. It's past time to worry about which words should be official when we can each "frame" our thoughts as though we were talking across the back fence with a neighbor (which is to say, no "us" or "them.") On the other hand, tell those generic neighbors that not voting makes them part of the problem, and that declaring "a pox on both their houses" is a copout.
WAR: It may have been the President's idea but we have to deal with it. ECONOMY: Yes, the little guy's pocketbook has become flatter, but it's time to elect people who will make it worth while to work hard. THE OTHER FOLKS: There's no time to pick on anyone else because they are better/worse educated, lighter/darker skinned, Southern/Northern, because Americans have to stick together. TV AND NEWSPAPERS: Without the help of the media, we wouldn't have fallen so hard for the "terror talk" but now they're wising up, so find good information wherever you can find it. MORALS: It's time to let individuals live their lives and if they seem to do a bad job of it, find friends who are living the way you like to live. REMEMBER NOT TO USE BAD NAMES OR MAKE FUN OF OTHERS.

I was just listening to Duke University Constitutional Law Professor, Erwin Chemerinsky speaking about executive privilege and he posed this question: Why would George Bush be so willing to wave executive privilege, and allow former White House political director Sara M. Taylor to give testimony behind closed doors and off the record, but not under oath and on record? Professor Chemerinsky stated it didn't make sense unless he has something to hide. He also said there have only been two other cases where the courts have encountered a constitutional showdown with executive privilege, and that with Bush and Co., we are in un-charted waters.
I find that hard to believe? High Crimes have been committed and justice must be served. It's time for Congress to act and uphold the Constitution. It is not just a dam piece of paper as this mendacious prevaricating, cardboard cowboy Bush would have us believe!
Rob, we are indeed dealing with a rogue administration. What else is this evil cabal capable of doing? And do you sincerely believe they'll want to relinquish power?
Lastly, what is up with Arlen Spector? What is wrong with this man! Does he really like the current state that our Republic's in? Seriously!

On jogging down things to do Rob, inspite of what some evidently think that if enough time passes by, "all things will be forgotten." Whether you take the right path or say the right words at the right times... saying the words you are, and doing the things you are doing, may be more than what most other word warriors are accomplishing.
And whether it's too late to get the Impeachment-Prosecution of known said criminals done before January 2009 or not, just double asterisk this note my friend.
THEY ARE STILL CRIMINALS THAT DESERVE PROSECUTING, AND WE WILL NOT FORGET !
So let the bell of freedom ring and if we all have to keep yelling and pecking at the top of our cyber-voices and real... so be it. Is it just me, or can't everyone feel the need for truth and justice to be served just oozing out of the cracks of America?
With the success of this past weekends Live Earth World Wide Concert and "Educational Program," maybe we need to start putting one together for Labor Day and call it "Constitutional Aid." Or "Anti-Corruption/Govt. Aid."
Another good one my friend. Keep up the good work and wish we could be there. Know you're in our hearts!
