Ok Mr. Bush, time to pay up for your war.

I think we are on to something here.  The best way to end Republican support of the occupation of Iraq is to make them pay for it. Last Tuesday Democrats John Murtha (D,PA) David Obey (D,WI) and Jim McGovern (D,MA) proposed an income tax surcharge to finance the occupation of Iraq.  How it would work is that low to middle income taxpayers would have to add 2 percent to their tax bill.  Wealthier people would pay additional 12 percent.

This would take the financial burden of this war off of our children and grandchildren and lay it at the source, us.  Yea, that’s you and me.  The reason it is our responsibility is even if you didn’t support the war we didn’t stop it.

I was against this war from the inception.  The war was not in the best interests of the United States.  It was planned by the D students of foreign policy and executed by the yes men who where left after the administration fired the people who warned against this debacle.

Now George W not my president Bush is borrowing money from China and historical levels to pay for his disastrous war.  His neo-convict pals are making record profits from his war. That needs to stop now.

With the war tax every American can now be involved in this war.  Every American will feel the pain and see their real earnings go down to pay for this war.  I would even go farther.  The only way we can stop the war is to get business involved too.  If we want to end the War take the profit out of it. Renegotiate No Bid Contracts in Iraq and the USA for that matter.

Can you imagine with the likes of George Bush and Dick Cheney and the rabble of neo-convicts running the war machine, if we put into place a sane and actually patriotic policy of reasonable spending and reasonable profit taking.

Nobody is against industry making a profit but I damn sure am sick of companies like Halliburton, Bechtel and the whole bunch of war profiteers bending lady liberty over the White House desk and having their way with her.

The reason they can do this is we allow it. There is no law to prevent it.

So George says hey let’s invade Iraq. Then he thinks you know those folks are gonna get hungry and thirsty running around spreading demonocracy. How are we gonna solve that Dick? So Dick says hey Georgie Boy I used to work for a company that would feed all our boys. Georgie Boy says really Dick? Thank Jesus that America has a patriot like you.

So Halliburton gets the no bid contract to feed the troops in Iraq. Well I don’t know about you but right now in the good ole USA there are a bunch of restaurant chains, caterers and food service contractors who serve millions of customers a day good and nutritious meals. So why does Halliburton get the special no bid contract?? Gee wasn’t Dick Cheney the CEO of Halliburton.  The list goes on and on. Let’s start making our lawmakers accountable.

So boys and girls if you want a war you got to pay as you go and no better time than the present.  Since we are all now going to pay as we go, we are going to want some oversight as to how Mr. Bush is spending our war tax money.  We must demand fair and reasonable profits and competition and end these buddy deals that this administration has burdened the America people with.

So I am all for the war tax.  I can’t wait to hear the neo-convicts screaming in pain, not because they are dying for their war, but more the pain of having to actually pay for their war.

Peace and Liberty through intelligence, strength, and integrity.
