Here are two YouTube interviews with German Greens, the first one with Reinhard Buetikofer, a co-chair of the national German Green Party, and the second with Jutta Ebeling, the female Vice-Mayor of Frankfort. Both were interviewed in Germany by Mike Feinstein of the San Francisco Greens.
In the first video, Reinhard talks about what the Greens have been doing on the national and international scale in Europe and their future plans.
In the second video, Jutta Ebeling, the female Vice-Mayor of Frankfort, talks about the Green coalition on the municipal level with the Christian Democratic Party in Frankfort.
These interviews took place after a Green Future Focus conference in Germany in September. Reinhard is currently visiting the U.S. and will be in San Diego this weekend. I'm hoping I'll have the opportunity to meet him.
It is interesting to hear about the accomplishments of Greens elsewhere in the world, since the U.S. is still struggling under the stranglehold of a corrupt two-party system and does not allow for proportional representation.
In Germany, the Greens were part of a coalition government on the national level, and helped bring about environmental advances and more humanitarian laws.
