They say that if you drop a frog into a pot of boiling water it will immediately jump out, but that if you raise the pot's heat gradually, the frog won't react.
The US public has been on a slow boil since 2001. This administration's rollbacks have been so consistent and so egregious that it's no surprise many Americans feel apathetic.
And that begs the question: What exactly would it take to get the US public spurred into action?
Sentient World Simulation (SWS) may have an answer. It's a computer-based project designed to "generate alternative futures" and no surprise, the US Defense Department is actively involved.
According to one of the project's developers, Purdue University professor Alok Chaturvedi, "SWS will consist of a synthetic environment that mirrors the real world in all it key aspects - Political, Military, Economic, Social, Information, and Infrastructure." The goal is to copy each person on earth into the SWS parallel universe, and then see how they respond to external events such as natural disasters or political upheavals.
The concept paper Chaturvedi co-authored additionally notes, "SWS provides an environment for testing Psychological Operations (PSYOP)," to help the military "develop and test multiple courses of action to anticipate and shape behaviors of adversaries, neutrals, and partners."

Blurring the lines between military and civilian Psychological Operations is nothing new. In 1989, US forces in Panama blasted Guns N' Roses' "Welcome to the Jungle" into the Vatican Embassy during negotiations for the handover of General Manuel Noriega, and from 1998-1999, US military PSYOP personnel interned at both CNN and NPR.
More recently, a 2003 Pentagon document called Information Operations Roadmap detailed the US military's approach to exploiting information in order to "keep pace with warfighter needs and support defense transformation." Personally approved by former Defense Secretary Rumsfeld, the document was declassified in 2006 and covers everything from the Pentagon's plans for Computer Network Attack ("We Must Fight the Net") to beefing up the use of Psychological Operations ("We Must Improve PSYOP") to manipulating information through means including: "Radio/ TV/Print/ Web media designed to directly modify behavior and distributed in theater supporting military endeavors in semi or non-permissive environment."
While The Smith-Mundt Act of 1948 forbids US propaganda intended for foreign audiences from being used domestically, Information Operations Roadmap acknowledges that "information intended for foreign audiences, including public diplomacy and PSYOP, increasingly is consumed by our domestic audience and vice-versa."
The 2003 Pentagon document adds, "the distinction between foreign and domestic audiences becomes more a question of USG [U.S. government] intent rather than information dissemination practices."
Domestically, it doesn't help that SWS and other developments in military Psychological Operations are accompanied by rollbacks in the right to dissent and bipartisan support of government surveillance of American citizens.
Makes you wish our cyberspace clones could tell us how best to fight the Matrix.
At the very least, we must become more vigilant about the ongoing use of military PSYOP and misinformation – the Pat Tillman case is a perfect example. Holding the Defense Department and media accountable for every mislead regarding the Bush administration's military adventurism is more important than ever.

imho, this is vital info, ie. what Heather has to say here. just take your basic US military psyops manual, go over the basic tactics and you can imagine what they're really up to. it's mind boggling .....as it is intended to be. it's shocking ....as intended. it's unbelievable ....so people have a hard time believing it.

Mind and thought control seems to be the job of the government and the main stream media, in today's world. The only saving grace to this plot is that the perpetrators are not that clever. Now government, with the help of media has been playing this game for decades. Why else would we give them so much money to defend us, if they had not told us we need them to spend bundles and bundles of cash to defend us, from enemies real and imagined. 9/11 turned out so well for them. Almost if it had been planned that way. Every now and then they have to go after a manufactured enemy. It was not hard to sell the Iraq war because we had proof ,did we not, that Iraq was out to destroy us . And who sold us that The Concept, The Military Industrial Complex, with enthusiastic facilitation from corporate media. Now they are working diligently on selling us the War in Iran and we see it coming .So the only thing we can do is start impeachment of the true engineer of this war Dick Cheney, to slow down the momentum. If the democrats fail to start proceeding then we are doomed to more mind control. Nancy Wake Up. They do not just want Control of Congress they want control of your grand children's future. Iraq was stage one and Iran is stage two.

We have been told repeatedly by the MSM that Valerie Plame was not a covert agent. Even the Special Prosecutor investigating the leak of her name seemed to share this opinion. Yet, from deep within the bowels of the CIA someone is fighting back. It seems that there are two kinds of covert agents. One is an "OC" and another is an "NOC." The OC has official cover, usually as part of a U.S. Embassy, and can only be deported if caught spying. But it is the NOC who truly takes on the dangerous jobs of spying and dying while developing sources in the field. NOC stands for nonofficial cover, and such spies are often tortured, disavowed by their nation, and shot. Valerie Plame was an NOC working in intelligence regarding weapons of mass destruction for many years. She was a true American patriot and when her name was made public as a CIA employee many lives were forfeit: lives that had been gambled on a future of freedom that America represented.
The men that plotted the release of Plame's name for the petty purpose of discrediting a single critic are men that engaged in high treason, whether or not Plame meets the definition of a covert agent. The MSM and the Democrats should be calling for the investigation and impeachment of any administration officials involved. Instead, Plame, and those who died due to her exposure, are fading memories. Thanks to the MSM and Nancy Pelosi.

The Hierarchal System . . . Welcome to the jungle.

The Hierarchal System is always imposed from the top down. Whether your System is called a monarchy, communism, fascism, capitalism or anarchy, the Elite have the gold and power and use it to make the rules. Self-preservation is their first, last and only Golden Rule. Preservation of their wealth and power supercedes the most basic needs of billions of their subjects. If you lack shelter, food, water or health care, it’s because the Hierarchy has made it so. Your lack is their gain.
Neither of our political parties represent the interests of the billions of subjects, they represent the Hierarchy because they are part of the Hierarchal System. The System is the means by which a small minority rules the vast majority by terrorism, cunning and deceit. Which doesn’t mean they are smarter than all the rest of us, on the contrary, most are incredibly stupid, but remember, they live in a world of their own making, aided by the basic decency of all those billions they abhor.
Their rules (laws) are one-way< Good for them, bad for us.
The hierarchy we have in power now would like to rule forever, and they don’t care what it takes to achieve that goal. This Hierarchal System feeds and feeds off the Military Industrial Complex. This hierarchy has killed and will continue to kill many more people before they are stopped.
Is that grounds for Impeachment?

Talk about the Barbarians at the front gate they're here living amongst us. Talk about art predicting life, Isaac Asimov's pre computer 'Foundation' trilogy predicted this 40 years ago. What surprises me is that it is Americans well educated presumably informed citizens who staff, design, implement manipulation on a grand scale. How long do you think it will be before its turned on US citizens including them All this to protect ...a second auto, a new plasma TV....Not worth it. It is truly a case of the inmates running the asylum.
Bullies usually get over confident in sand pits and take their standover tactics to the wider world. Who knows what they will choose to target. Is this a prelude to McCarthism on seroids? Or worse?
