Bush and Cheney say that a U.S. departure would spark chaos in Iraq which would engulf the region. They spin and try to scare us that the terrorist will follow us home. Everything this Administration has said has turned out to be false so why should we believe anything they say? Did the Viet Cong and communist follow us home after we left Viet Nam? No. Did withdrawing from Viet Nam cause our freedom to be lost. No. The chaos in Iraq is Bush’s fault, and the majority of Iraqis want us to leave. If the majority (in a democracy) want us to leave, why are we staying? Fact Check: It is not our oil and we have no 'right' to one drop of it.
Wouldn't victory be to bring the troops home now and save them further damage from having to fight and kill in an invasive war Bush/Cheney started on ‘bad intelligence’? We’ll be paying for years because of their mess and ‘bad intelligence’ and we don’t need to pay in innocent blood too.
Covert CIA agent Valerie Plame's outing destroyed Brewster-Jennings, a CIA front company that specialized in hard to get intelligence regarding Iranian nuclear weapons development and acquisition. Forget everything about this ‘affair’ except that Bush/Cheney destroyed this major CIA operation by allowing and helping Plame to be exposed. Bush never did hold anyone accountable like he promised he would. And in my opinion, the Joe Wilson smear angle is the biggest piece of Rovian mis-direction to ever come down the pike.
A good source of intelligence (Plame’s Brewster-Jennings) and knowledge for Iranian WMD's was taken out by the Bush Administration. Why? Perhaps war mongers and war profiteers don't want good intelligence, it hampers their ability to lead us into another war based on lies, and keeps their favorite scapegoat 'bad intelligence' alive and well.
Imagine if Clinton had destroyed an important covert CIA front company that took hundreds of millions of tax dollars and decades to create, and was a specialist in an area where the US is now banging war drums?
Joe Wilson confirmed the bogus nature of the claims that Saddam looked to purchase uranium from Africa included in George Bush’s State of The Union Address, the infamous 16 words. Bush and company destroyed a major CIA covert company (that we badly need today) to discredit someone (Wilson) who exposed their using ‘bad intelligence’ to start a costly war in blood and money.
Halliburton, Exxon, and Carlyle Group profits is a good place to start in any understanding of why they did it.
I don’t think we need to look much further than Treason as a just cause for impeachment. How much more war and manipulation by the oil/war machine can we take?
