In Orwellian times such as these, we need to be always on the lookout for new manipulations of public perceptions in the mainstream media. What's bad can be reliably predicted to be turned into good, and whatever was good will, in all certainty, be turned into something horrible!
It appears that such an effort is taking place in the news with regard to the rounding up of the unusual suspects in the car bombings and other supposed foiled plots this past week in the UK.
Notice that all the attention is on the group we have come to respect and trust most... physicians and other health care workers in the medical profession. Historically, it has been medical personnel who we have been able to look to in order to receive truth, compassion, and concern for our well-being. Universally, we have come to count on the medical profession to deal with us reliably - and to administer to our health.
In the case of the events this week in London and Glasgow, the eight individuals being made out to be villains who are being detained - with and without arrest - are reported to be primarily Islamic extremists within the medical profession.

According to several reports, those who know the detained and arrested physicians and medical workers are of the finest character, lead exemplary lives, and are the last people in the world anyone would have believed would carry out plots to harm others.
It doth appear that a monster is being created out of the image of Muslim doctors and health workers. Why oh why could this possibly be? Perhaps it is because those who we trust to bring us the truth about the devastating health effects of Uranium munitions used by the US, the UK and Israel (or Depleted Uranium, as it is often called) are (surprise, surprise!) physicians and health workers of Islam.
By discrediting the entire medical profession of Islamic faith, some measure of public doubt upon these professionals can be manufactured. In doing so, both the character and credibility of Muslim health care workers can be called into question when they issue reports concerning birth defects, miscarriages and still births, cancers, diabetes, immune system disorders, respiratory conditions, and other Uranium-related casualties caused by those waging radiological warfare against the Middle East.
When physicians and health care workers are demonized in the public’s perception as the newest radical, extremist "terrorist threat"? Then this population, consisting of those who speak up and out most passionately - and with the most authority and first-hand knowledge about the radiological crimes being committed against humanity in Iraq and Afghanistan - can far more easily be discounted as suspect.
When the truth needs to be suppressed, the messengers of truth apparently need to be destroyed. Thus, the vilification of Muslim doctors and health care workers fully “fits”. In this manner, the message of truth concerning health effects caused by radiological weapons of indiscriminate effects that are causing untold suffering in the Middle East can be effectively destroyed.
For those who conduct these radiological wars - and the psychological operations that go with them - the thinking is that if the truth hurts? Destroy the messenger and pray that the problem (i.e., dissemination of that truth) will go away.
We can only pray -" to the God, Goddess, or Allah of our choice -" the people of the world are not so facile as to be sucked into the purposeful manufacture of mistrust in the professional medical community of Islamic faith. For if given the choice between having faith in our medical healers or faith in those who wage wars against innocents? One must believe that the international community will be able to make the only right and logical choice.

If only people learned from history. This new scheme resembles the 1953 'Doctors' plot in Russia to the letter. Then they suddenly accused a group of prominent doctors in Moscow of poisoning the high ranking officials. A special witness was summoned, a woman who said she could verify that. Of course, when arrested they all confessed and the media openly discussed the ' wide spread of medical terrorism' which resulted in mass firing, arrests and exiles of the medical people of certain origin ( in that case- Jews, because many of the accused were Jews). The campaign widened and widened with the perspectives of becoming nationwide. The plan was to hang those doctors publicly and then to exile most of the Jews to Siberian district as a co-conspirator ' nation'. Fortunately, Stalin died in 1953 and then, in about a month special commision discovered the scheme and the case was closed, all the remaining doctors were freed and the actual torturers were executed.
I am thinking of the good Syrian doctor in the US who recently helped my son, cured him from the wrong prescription he was given in ER. That Syrian doctor practices in the poor area. Will he now have to become afraid?
If only people learned. The ' Doctors' plot is back in the country of Orwell.

I have great regard and admiration for the London Bobbies, Scotland Yard and MI5 which prevents me from doubting whatever evidence they have unearthed. I only have queezy feelings on the timing of such discoveries even after taking into account the (red handed) suicidal 'attack' on Glasgow Airport Terminal's entrance! Why? Its the timing of all this! Blair leaves office on the same day! Gordon Brown had been saying the 'wrong things' on troop withdrawal from Iraq in the couple of days preceding the discoveries made, 'wrong things' for the US Administration to stomach! The British public opinion was vehemently in favour of the same 'right things'. So? Knock all this away by 'arranging' the discoveries to be made by 'chance'. Having said this, I confirm further that I have greater regard and admiration for the British Judiciary despite one or two Scalia and Roberts type aberrations. In UK the truth will come out, sooner than later AND I wouldn't be surprised from what emerges. However, I may be wrong and if it does turn out that Muslim doctors and medics are guilty, let them be put behind bars for life! I have no problems with this. I have problems by the so-called evidence gathered across the Atlantic on 9/11 and 9/12 like the unburnt undamaged Passport of one of the highjackers from the debris of the twin towers where nothing else came out intact. I have problems with the absence of the wreckage of the aircraft which was supposed to have hit the Pentagon. I have problems with the Pennsylvanian aircraft wreckage which produced no carcasses, not even charcoaled bodies or even body parts; so on and so forth! Let's just wait and see! Whereas TRUTH never comes out in USA, it shall in UK!

The wonderful thing about Western democracy is that these eight men will have their chance in open court unlike what would happen if they were turned over to the Bush Adminstration.
I think the your question is answered by the fact that both terrorist at the airport were Muslim medical doctors, and five of the eight that have been arrested are medical doctors. I think it would be the same if the five of eight terrorist were Roman Catholic Priests, Prebyterian ministers, national syndicated journalists or public school teachers. In crime you look for links and common denominators.
Give it time and be ready to say I was wrong if you are proven wrong and write an apology to Scotland Yard and everyone else you have falsely accused. If proven right, the alcolades will come.

so I would like NY Times to treat the issue of Billy Cutts, a former police officer accused of murdering his wife as 'the fact that he was a former police officer worries a lot of Americans because it does seem that police professionals are prone to vilolence...' or something like that. I wonder what would have happened next.
The media hunt ( I am not accusing British Police) for sensational ' ring' of doctors is self- evident. The purpose is also- self- evident- to use fear as a tool. And as for the court- respectfully we had recently a Mussaoui court proceeding which was disgusting to say the least.
Western democracy is a good thing, I agree. It has to be protected from those who destroy it by abusing fear and instigatiing dark emotions among the people who are already having a very tough time.
How about the proper way of reporting:'The British police had apprehedned several suspects and investigation goes on.'
End of the story. Everyone is innocent until proven guilty in open court.
