Take Back America Without Leaving Home

Thousands of Americans have died in an illegitimate war because they believed that they were called to spread freedom and democracy.  But how many of us who are living normal lives on our soil are willing to take peaceful action to preserve our freedoms?  Are we willing to suffer or to make sacrifices in order to take back America?

If you have watched documentaries such as Hacking Democracy or American Blackout,  you may be aware that there are numerous ways to rig and manipulate elections.  Our wealthy government leaders get elected in order to further enrich themselves by raiding the treasury of our present and future taxes; and to use any propaganda necessary in order to justify plundering the resources of other countries.  As long as our leaders condone torture and our presidents can declare war on any country they wish to without fearing impeachment, there will never be peace on earth.

Our elected officials tend to represent powerful corporations and monetary organizations more enthusiastically then they represent the people.  Anyone who has investigated the events of 9/11 for themselves is questioning whether there may be elements in our own government who have no problem allowing the death of U.S. citizens if it accomplishes the purposes of their global agenda.  And maybe this should not be as surprising as it is, since our government has a well-documented history of supporting dictators who kill and torture people in countries both far and near.[1]

Were you aware of all the above?  If so, it was probably not because you saw it on TV.  The corporate American media has been the best-kept propaganda secret of a government to ever exist.  It is time to rebel.  Awareness of the need for change is growing.  Many are hoping that a new president will stem the tide of corruption.  But it is so wide and so deep that any political cure will only be temporary.  Keep protesting torture and keep marching against war.  The media will not cover it.  But the internet will.  It is time to let the corporate media know that we will not take it anymore.

The idea is actually very simple, but you will resist.  Cancel your cable channels.  Cancel your satellite subscriptions.  Keep only your internet connection.  Get rid of your television if you are serious about making an impact.

In order to actually change the direction our country is going, we have to affect the economy of the media.  What if just 20% of Americans bailed out of the corporate-controlled media?  I believe every political and corporate system in the country would sit up and take notice of this boycott.  And there is too much at stake to make the mistake of assuming that we can change our political system without also breaking the media monopolies.

When thousands protest the Iraq war in the streets of the capital, the media refuses to cover it.  When presidential candidates who actually represent the interests of the American people run for office, the media ignores or marginalizes them.  When the government does not want us to know that WTC Building 7 collapsed on 9/11 even though no airplane hit it, the media obliges by keeping the event off the air.  When unlabeled genetically-modified food invades over 60% of our processed food supply, the media is oblivious.  The media convinces us that places like strategically-located Pakistan and oil-rich Venezuela are the world’s most dangerous places, but it does not cover the millions dying in the Congo.

Most people are unaware of how the media is using mind control to shape their opinions.  And they will be curious if you march in the street.  But they will take you seriously if you get rid of your television set.  We must wake up a nation that has been willingly hypnotized in their own homes.  This is no small task.  All who care about the future of our families and our country must join this movement.  Taking this dramatic action will educate both the media and our fellow citizens about the situation.  The media needs to know that we will not take their censored journalism anymore.  And our fellow citizens need to know that their TV sets are propaganda machines.

There is abundant evidence that both the government and the corporate media are motivated solely by profit.  So vote with your dollars.  Support the internet.  Kill your TV.[ii]  Now that is a vote they cannot take away from us.  Yes, it involves some self-sacrifice.  But you do not even have to leave home to do it.  Isn’t taking back America worth it?

And to go a step further...for those who are willing and able to leave home in order to take back America:  Imagine thousands of TV sets and satellite dishes abandoned in a very public place such as the National Mall in DC...

She started watching a lot of documentaries last year with her husband after subscribing to Netflix. She is stunned and concerned about so many things that are going on in our country. Carol recommends Googling "Censored Media" if you really want to know.

High Crimes

Great post. I was wondering the other day if we could file a class action lawsuit against the media for their subliminal propaganda against Ron Paul or any other person in the race for president. I believe there are laws governing equal time for candidates runnng for office whether it be adds, interviews, or pundit puking comments on the election.

Whether we realize it or not the media is also trampling on our constitution and the best example of this, which makes my blood boil, is when there is a high profile crime being investigated and the media takes it upon themselves to spew there opinions on the facts of a case before a jury has even been thought of.

This is why I always say that the Shawn Hanittys of the media world are going to be charged with aiding the crimes of the Bush and Rumsfelds of this world.

Where is a noble lawyer? We need you now.
