Rep. Dennis Kucinich pulled his name off the dangerous "Holt Bill," HR 811, on June 10. Kucinich also stood up to Diebold in Nov. 2003, posting their memos on his Web site and daring them to issue a cease and desist. That action caused Diebold to withdraw a cease and desist order against BlackBoxVoting.org's Internet service provider, and many other Web sites.
Other public officials who have taken strong reform stances:
Ion Sancho, election supervisor Leon County Florida, who was blackballed by elections industry vendors after he permitted a series of security examinations revealing problems with Diebold optical scanners and the GEMS election management system.
Bruce Funk, former elections chief Emery County Utah. Funk was locked out of his office and fired after allowing a security test on Diebold touch-screens, which resulted in notification to authorities of critical security flaws that resulted in at least three states pulling the voting machines for emergency security measures shortly before the 2006 primary election.
Debra Bowen, California Secretary of State. Ordering top to bottom evaluation of voting systems in California, currently fighting it out with Election Systems & Software over a refusal to turn over source code. Conducted perhaps the ONLY really tough cross examination of elections industry officials in a California Senate hearing on certification.
Jennifer Bruner, Ohio Secretary of State; Ordered the entire Cuhahoga County Board of Elections to resign after two employees were convicted of rigging the recount.
"Never back down. They have to know we will never back down, and just because they retreated doesn't mean they won't be back for more." -- Bill Gardner, NH Secretary of State.

I'm glad to hear Kucinich pulled his support for the Holt bill. It is a courageous stand against those who have benefitted from the machines and who will do anything to keep the "fix" intact. Holt will allow the continued theft of elections, and should be tabled.
You are doing so well, thank you for your work
