Barack Obama's speech on Race and politics reveals him as the only true agent of change in the 2008 Presidential election and reinforces his well deserved image as a sorely needed uniter for a disillusioned and badly divided American electorate: Allen L Roland

Barack Obama just finished a major speech on race in America and building a more perfect union. His theme was that we cannot solve the challenges of our time unless we solve them together and that for blacks ~ " memories of humiliation and doubt and fear have never gone away but that similar anger also exists within segments of the white community."

As I watched his brilliant 38 minute speech ~ I saw a person for his time, I saw a man of quiet inner integrity and courage, a man who would command instant respect on the world stage, I saw a breath of fresh air in a corrupted and poisoned political system, I saw a president who could morally lift America out of the gutter ~ where the Cheney/Bush administration has led us and I saw and felt hope for a better America.

A convenient race

Yes, the Black man is angry at the white man and blames him for everything wrong with America. Obama in this case is “Black”. When the people look at him like his a crazed angry Black, Obama is white, Asian, hispanic, etc...

I’m sure it was the same when he went to college. I bet Obama claimed to be Black to get preferential treatment there too. He got so used to the “Black” gravy train he now thinks it will push him to be president.

Elect the poor angry black man that is also white, Asian, Hispanic, or any other race when it is convenient.

I do have writing credits in a major newspaper--long ago.
Currently, I write for online political boards with a
definite liberal bias. Proud parent, grandparent and
aspiring poet and novelist. I never stopped aspiring.
Finally managed to earn a BA degree in communications/ American lit. Love romantic fiction that also stretches
the intellectual muscles. And am mad about romantic
Russian composers. I take life seriously but tend to
look at it with a healt...

Gallaher, you did it again!

You cut right through the BS and get to the nub of an issue. I like that in a person--shows a keen, laser-beam approach that brooks no nonsense and will not suffer fools. Not that all Obama devotees are fools; they just seem to be drifting out there in some exotic ether of existentialist fantasy.

Thanks for always pulling the space cadets back into earth's orbit. Maybe we can save the country in the old fashioned way--with hard work and rational processes.

Hillary Clinton, on the other hand is a "pragmatic idealist" with a real plan.

With Bill Richardson's enthusiastic endorsement of Obama today ~ the Clinton's are history. That's Dodd, Richardson and soon Edwards who are rightfully jumping on the true train of change ~ The Obama Express.

I suggest you both begin to write articles versus comments and make a true stand for your beliefs ~ versus sniping at the courageous truthtellers like myself.
