Yesterday, the Delaware UAW CAP voted to endorse their senior US Senator Joe Biden in his bid for the Democratic Presidential nomination. There were no votes in opposition.

Senator Biden has been a strong supporter of organized labor ever since he was first elected to the US Senate in 1972. He has fought strongly to defend both the Chrysler and General Motors manufacturing plants in his state.

Currently the Chrysler plant is slated to idle with no vehicles being built there. No new vehicles are currently scheduled for the General Motors plant after 2012.

Stephen Crockett is co-host of Democratic Talk Radio and author of the Democratic Voices opinion column.
