FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE - Monday, March 10, 2008 CLEVELAND, OH - In a hotly contested five-way race to retain his Congressional seat in the Ohio Democratic primary last week, Rep. Dennis Kucinich faced serious challenges from Republican media, Republican contributors, Republican advisors, and, as it turns out, Republican voters who crossed over on election day. According to figures released yesterday, about 10,000 registered Republicans in Kucinich's 10th Congressional District switched their party affiliation to vote in the Democratic primary. That cross-over strategy, led nationally by Rush Limbaugh, was heavily promoted by the local Clear Channel radio station that was bolstering a "Dump Dennis" campaign. The anti-Kucinich campaign was also assisted by The Plain Dealer newspaper, which editorially endorsed one of his challengers four separate times; by hundreds of thousands of dollars in campaign contributions from Republican corporate interests; and by support from Republican advisors. Despite the opposition, Kucinich won more than 50% of the vote in the five-way contest, outpacing the heavily financed and supported second-place finisher by more than 20,000 votes. Of the nearly 136,000 votes cast, about 10,000 were cast by Republicans. Kucinich said the extent of the Republican cross-over vote was "shocking" and reflected "a concerted effort by Republican interests to interfere in the Democratic primary and knock me out of Congress." He added, "They obviously don't like my opposition to the war, trade, and tax policies of the Bush/Cheney Administration, or my calls for impeachment hearings. But to go to these lengths is absolutely unprecedented." Kucinich, widely regarded as the most progressive member of the U.S. House, survived the effort by relying on strong and solid support from organized labor and from his traditional grassroots political base, plus additional financial support from a national constituency attracted to his Presidential campaign, which ended in January. But, political observers and media analysts are predicting that Kucinich remains vulnerable to his Republican opponent in November - a former state representative and Republican Party chief who will draw the same kind of financial and institutional support that Kucinich's chief Democratic rival relied on in the primary election. Although the Congressional District has been reliably Democratic throughout Kucinich's six terms, the anti-Kucinich sentiment among Republican interests is likely to fuel a massive outpouring of support for his opponent in the general election campaign. # # # Contact: Andy Juniewicz ajuniewicz@aol.com

What happened to Impeachment? What happened to Impeachment? What happened to the 9/11 Investigation? Kucinich collected donations from progressives to support his primary run based on these proclamations, and now we are expected to wait until after the general election for him to actually do anything? I have heard that he is planning an extended vacation to England so I guess he is just about as concerned about his congressional campaign as his presidential campaign, which is to say not at all. In fact after announcing his running for president, he took a month long vacation and ended up with the world's most pathetic campaign. I was trying to help the campaign at the time and still cannot believe how little effort he made at his run for the presidency. He spent most of his time collecting donations in California and then quit before anyone could vote for him. I am starting to see that Kucinich is part of the Congressional dog and pony show and he just uses these issues to collect donations, which he hands right back to the corporate media for ridiculous ads. And I can tell you, I am not the only one seeing this. by

I am a Republican troll lol? I have been supporting Kucinich since 2002, through two presidential campaigns, and spreading the word about him on the net for years. I have supported his efforts in Congress, and passed the news on about his work far and wide. I most recently wrote about how he had promised to introduce Impeachment of Bush on the day of the State of the Union. The article was posted on Information Clearing House, Alex Jones, WRH and elsewhere. He inexplicably backed out as millions of activists waited on that day. He said Conyers was going to do something. Then he said he had to win his primary. Now it looks like he wants us to give more money and wait another 6 months because he has to win the general. He has been leading us on and I'm tired of waiting and hoping he will actually come through on something. by

Please Please, Nadia, wake up. The impeachment was buried by Conyers in the Judiciary Committee. A real 9/11 investigation?! Most of Congress believes the whitewash 9/11 commission was all the "investigation" needed. Kucinich at least brought forth impeachment -- the only Dem to do so -- and you think he is the one not doing enough. Open your eyes. by

You might start paying attention yourself. Kucinich said he would introduce articles of Impeachment of Bush but he has yet to do so. He used it as a means to collect donations but has not come through on it. He has also been using the prospect of 9/11 investigations to raise funds, most recently on the Alex Jones show, but has been leading activists on for months about it. Where are the hearings he promised? Kucinich stated that the incident with AIPAC did not happen, however he behaves as if someone is bribing, threatening him or something?! Ironically Kucinich has told his supporters and action center activists to sign up for his website "Integrity Now" stating it would begin soon, months later there is nothing. Where's the integrity? He seems a different person that the one I respected who seemed to care about the state of the country and would pursue truth and justice at all cost. by

Kucinich Needs to Man Up There I said it. Now call me a Republican troll. Resort to name calling. Or, let's talk about how people supported his candidacy because we wanted to support somebody who spoke out and said things no other candidate except Gravel was saying. But it wasn't just that he was saying things that most candidates weren't saying. It was that he had a track record of voting against the PATRIOT Act after reading it, organizing the House with his October 2002 analysis to oppose the war, and writing up articles of impeachment for Cheney as part of his vision for Strength Through Peace. His candidacy repudiated the whole Bush program. Now, my expectation was that after Dennis Kucinich won he would return to being the politician I had grown to respect. After he was done battling AIPAC and corporate interest groups targeting him, he was going to then pursue impeachment vigorously. Why now does it seem like Wexler is a more staunch proponent of impeachment than Kucinich? Why isn't there a plan to introduce a privileged resolution on impeachment for Cheney one more time and introduce articles of impeachment for Bush for the FIRST time? Conyers? Pelosi? That never got in the way of Dennis Kucinich before. It shouldn't get in the way of Kucinich now. The people have to mobilize. We have to have the back of our politicians. Let's mobilize Dennis' district to promote impeachment so that Dennis has nothing to fear but fear itself. He said, "Fear is not a basis of democracy." Fearing he might lose his seat is no way to govern. He knows it. Let's make him stick to his instincts and intuition. The interests are getting to Dennis. He is no longer acting like the man who opposed MUNY Light. I don't want a Dennis Kucinich in Congress that backs down. I want a voice for peace and sustainability who carries a pocket Constitution because it is his weapon for dealing blows to the powers that be in our government. by

Check this out: Video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0WTEhYzEuzs In Ohio's primary election in the 10th Congressional District last week, 10,000 registered Republicans switched their party affiliation on election day and became "Democrats for a Day" -- allowing them to try to unseat the one Congressman who has been a national leader on every issue that reflects the core values of real Democrats: Rep. Dennis Kucinich. 10,000 Republicans in one Congressional District! In a race where his opposition was supported by Republican media, Republican contributors, Republican advisors, and a Republican political agenda. In a special video message from Dennis, he explains what happened, why, and how you can help to meet the challenge that will surely be mounted again to put that seat in the Republican "win column" in November. They tried. They failed. But, they'll try again. With your support, we stopped them last week. And with your continued help, we can demonstrate in the next 10 days that we intend to stop them in November -- but only with your help. If issues like the war, not-for-profit health care, NAFTA, jobs, the environment, education, and the Constitution are important to you, please support the strongest, most consistent, most honorable voice in Congress who has the courage to stand with you and fight for what you believe: Dennis Kucinich. Check out this example of what their doing: by

Kucinich is a good man I worked for him and like him and trust him. But as we are all human, it is time to stop screaming and yelling about his needs for some time to relax and re-assess things and let him be. Working nonstop as he has and with the death of his brother this past December still there to be dealt with, I think it is time to lay off him and let him get some rest and some peace so he can do his job, which he will.
