As the Bush Administration prepares to surge over the cliff into a chasm deeper than any past president has contemplated the Bush atrocities here at home are beginning to evoke reaction. The presence of a Bush Library and Policy Center at Southern Methodist University has resulted in a movement in protest that has generated an online petition approaching 10,000 signatures in two weeks. The parallel petition in support sports less than 100, many anonymous and with similar wording.
Methodists are angry and talking about the outrage of having anything associated with the Bush presidency located on or near the campus. Dr. Andrew Weaver, a Methodist minister and psychologist who graduated from SMU wrote the wording for the petition and is among the group of clergy who are demanding that the Library go elsewhere. It has been suggested, not by the clergy but by the host of the Spiritual Politician, that the appropriate location be near the Federal Facility that should be the Bush residence after the impeachment.

Melinda Pillsbury-Foster is the author of GREED: The NeoConning of America and A Tour of Old Yosemite. The former is a novel about the lives of the NeoCons with a strong autobiographical component. The latter is a non-fiction book about her father and grandfather.
Ms. Pillsbury-Foster has been active in politics since the Goldwater Campaign. She left the Republican Party to join and become active in the Libertarian Party in 1973, working as an activist and party officer until she left the Libertarian Party in 1988 when she returned to the Republican Party and became active in the National Federation of Republican Women.
She is also the the founder of the the Arthur C. Pillsbury Foundation
As a limosine liberal, culture vulture & pseudo-intellectual, I don't know if SMU has a football team & a stadium. I also don't know what TX colledge got stuck with LBJ's lie-berry. That college has a football team & a large stadium that's filled to capacity on game days but doesn't have enough rest rooms. Urban legend has it that there are signs in that college's stadium which direct spectator to use the rest rooms at the LBJ lie-berry when the stadium's rest rooms are overcrowded. Each person who enters LBJ's edifice complex to use the rest rooms is counted as a visitor to LBJ's monument to hubris, perhaps a researcher. It sure increases the head count even if it's as accurate as body counts in 'Nam & were devoured by LBJ.
SMU could do the same thing with W's lie-berry-if SMU has a football team & a stadium.

Ok, somehow that's sounds funny. First of all a Bush library, for a man who wouldn't know a book or newspaper if it bit 'em in the ass.
And what better way to add insult to injury to this nation but by putting this library at a religious institution. .
This man is responsible for more dead Americans than Bin Laden! This is a man who says he talks to a higher 'Father'? Scary. This so he can pretend to be a Christian? I think not. Perhaps the best place would be Iraq.
Besides if there was a library there would only be one book in it, one of any real meaning... one that says it all!!! "My Pet Goat".

First, let me say that I am a life-long United Methodist. In fact I am seminary trained but never served in a patorate.
Dr. Andrew Weaver is perfectly correct in his opposition to the Bush Library.
George W. Bush is the most Godless*, ignorant and amoral man to ever have his high office and, he is an embarrassment to the United Methodist Church that I grew up in and love.
I do not recall the name of his pastor but he and George need to have a long conference about George humbly getting down on his knees and seeking forgiveness for his exceedingly poor witness to the Lord Jesus Christ. I can hardly recall a worse example in history since the Crusades.
I do not say that Bush has no chance of salvation, that's not true. God is a great God and His Son went to the Cross on Golgotha to build a bridge to span the chasm between ourselves in our fallen state and Almighty God for all of us. The fact is though that good works and a sanctified life are the fruits of salvation. If George Bush is in fact an example of a life given over to Christ then I have no idea what such a life should actually look like.
It would be a travesty to allow a library to memorialize the life of a man like George W. Bush to be built anywhere except in the basement of the World Bank which is home of mammon, the god* that Bush actually worships and serves.
May God have mercy on the souls of George W. Bush and all the other Godless* people among those that serve in the administration of this tyrant.
* As a clarification, please note that I use Godless with a big "G" rather than godless with a little "g" because Bush obviously serve gods )e.g. money, power, greed etc.).
