The charges against the Bush administration really are too serious to ignore, as Congressman Robert Wexler states.

While the phrase "worse than Watergate" is catching on in the public "mind" in the US, the charges against Dick Cheney include collusion in torture and other war crimes in the global mind. He is viewed as an architect in an illegal war.

The momentum for impeachment is evidenced by the collection of 200,000+ signatures on Wexler's website calling for impeachment hearings.

Internal cries for impeachment proceedings have fallen on the "deaf ears" of the US Congress for years. Yet many know the required Constitutional and international legal remedy for Bush Administration abuses must start with impeachment.

The inaction to stop the war and to continually fund the illegal war - a genocidal war - by US Congress have left global people stunned.

Our call for proper steps to be taken to restore international human rights has been left largely to the court proceedings - proceedings that have been left out of the US mainstream media.

Previously, no impeachment petition was available for signatures of NON US citizens. That's now been remedied!! And these signatures are verfiable which will give them more "weight".

Millions, maybe BILLIONS, of global people want to end the US war crimes and see Guantanomo shut down. Many have been exposed to the pictures of the torture and abuse at Abu Ghraib prison. They know that abuse goes on daily in a vast archipalago of "dark sites" sponsored by the US government.

Pinky's video on the legality or illegality of the Iraq war has been viewed over 800,000 times on you tube!!

This is a clear indiction that global people want a return to the rule of law and an end to the human rights abuses that have ensued.

You'd be amazed at how many signatures would be generated in a short time if people will just push the digg button!!

Also, I've made this as easy as I can to SPREAD IT AROUND!! One good thing is that the names are verifiable, not like some impeachment petitons that have floated around which are discredited when they have appeared online.

The focus in the impeachment movement must now come off "worse than watergate" which is very very american .. and focus on the illegal war and on the war criminality which will help the prosecutors alot !!

Let's just find out how fast this can take off, I think everyone will be totally amazed!

I wrote Wexler about it - I commented on his OpEd News piece where he wrote about it - but got no "uptake", but to build the momentum this IS the way to go, imho. By getting more nonAmerican press coverage, this will tip the US MSM's hand if we get the numbers of signatories to build up ..

so all you impeachers - please help out! You can put the url for the petition on the bottom of your email addies and lots of people might sign.

I've purposely keep the target number of signatories low, so that when people come back and see it's gone up they will have a sense of SATISFACTION and achievement. It's building commnity, too.

I am convinced we could get impeachment IF we get Nancy dumped! This might happen simply because she cannot get an "economic stiimulus package" that will work working with rePUGs only, which is what she is doing. Hoyer will be ALL OVER HER, as he is doing.

1. Dump Pelosi

2. get impeachment proceedings so the subpoenas have "teeth" and

3. Get these war criminals delivered over to the Hague.

And even if we don't make it, "the moutain" ain't gonna move - we will all be stuck with the impositions of the world community for decades. But at least we COULD get a retuirn to the rule of law. Every candidate should be immediately taken to task for not supporing impeachment, they have taken an oath to uphold the Constitution and it's a federal crime to NOT do so, and that includes ALL of them but Dennis Kucinich. Regardless of Bush/Cheney disregard; Geneva is STILL the Supreme Law of the Land. Esecutive Orders cannot change that FACT. Ask a Constitutional scholar or attorney; they'll tell you so.

So America, let the world help you sort this out in this peaceful way!

Thanks for running this, Rob! It may prove to be one of the greatest things you end up doing!! You are the very least helping people VENT their frustrations by giving them a place to go and voice their concerns by going to that peition .. have a look.

BTW. I thought the pinkyshow on whether the invasion of Iraq was illegal was very good. Its simple and straightforward. Thanks for posting about it. As I ask others here in Australia to sign the petition (when they can - I'll include a link to the pinky show).

Yup, those in the know in OZ who suffered under John Howard and are still paying should want to see Dirty Dick in the clink.

I am in Canada and try to keep up with the Commonwealth on my blog. Kinda felt like I was in on your election.

I hope I can get that link changed properly as I dont' want people copying this and getting the wrong information. I'll go in and try to modify one more time. The title part of the modification obviously took but the link? Very strnge - I am putting it in correctly.

A suggestion

I have no intention of being critical here, so please don't take this the wrong way, but links can and, based on evidence, should be tested in "preview mode." I have personally found the convenience link feature in the editor to be unreliable. I have also found that even carefully manually entering the link in the editor will still sometimes produce spurious appended characters in preview mode. I have been able to eliminate this problem by surrounding my manually entered links with square braces, e.g. [ link ]
