Seed in the ground (Hemp!) (2 comments) A good article concerning the efforts of Pine Ridge Indians in South Dakota who fought to grow hemp for building, not connected to marijuana. They do it cooperatively despite being marauded by the Feds.

They shoot horses, don't they? Not any more (2 comments) Why horses were allowed to propagate so wildly is not covered in this essay. Therein comes the issue. To butcher them for countries who eat horse meat is touchy and therefore not done any more. Filling them full of toxic substances and putting them in dumps seems insane. When there were so few unwanted horses the issue was whether they were ready for the glue factory.
