(AP) - According to the minutes of a recent secret meeting, obtained by the Associated Press, President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad of Iran told President Hugo Chavez of Venezuela, "Iran is thinking of flying reconnaissance aircraft with fighter cover over Israel, painted in UN colors. If Israel fires on them, it would be grounds for war."

Ahmadinejad also said Iran was attempting to assassinate Israeli Prime Minister Ariel Sharon.

Chavez replied that he was "solidly with the President and ready to do whatever it took to disarm Sharon."

Ahmadinejad told Chavez he: "thought it unlikely that there would be internecine warfare between the different religious and ethnic groups in Israel following its takeover by Iran."

____________

These two presidents almost sound criminal and a bit insane until you discover that this is not really from the Associated Press, that this is actually from a White House memo, and that I've substituted Ahmadinejad and Chavez for Bush and Blair, and substituted Israel for Iraq.

At that point, some sort of cognitive dissonance had better set in, because the Super Bowl may be over but we've still got the Pro Bowl to watch. Pass the popcorn!
