Thanks to thousands of Americans who wrote letters, made phone calls, and signed the petition to urge Congress to enact this legislation into law, we prevailed over President Bush.
By standing in unity and raising our voices together, we showed that George W. Bush and Dick Cheney can no longer stand in the way of progress.
With the passage of this important measure , we will now provide the critical domestic support needed to move our country forward. The 2008 Farm Bill makes significant farm policy reforms, protects the safety net for all of America’s food producers, addresses important infrastructure needs for specialty crops, increases funding to feed our nation’s poor, and enhances, support for important conservation initiatives.
