The albatross around the neck of Progressive Americans. by W. Christopher Epler (Bill) Page 1 of 3 page(s) |

"When the going gets tough, the tough gets going!" These words should be tattooed on the foreheads of Obama and Biden. "Fighting the good fight!" These words should ALSO be tattooed on the foreheads of Obama and Biden.
Our problem is that since these two "candidates" (?) have chosen the monkey path of see no evil, say no evil, and hear no evil (mostly "say no evil"), they live in the trees and never come down to Earth.
But Joe, don't you get it? Political/moral/environmental reality IS the Earth! Down and dirty realism wins the day, not trashing progressives and Obama smiley face stickers on global warming, stolen elections, money cow oil wars for the elites, a perfect storm of financial chaos racing to America's second Depression, religious fanatics scutting around Washington like cockroaches, and the annihilation of America's "middle class" (just elites and human cattle -- that's the pug holy grail),
Yes, maybe it's a little odd to be slamming the "Democratic" (what a meaningless word!) candidates this close to the election, but, hey, it's a dirty job and someone's got to do it.
OK. Straight out. Obama and Biden have taken whimpery into another dimension. If only we could get them to stop hiding on the monkey path, we would be able to confront the living s___ out of them.
Because if WE don't find some way to light a fire under these two "dignified cowards", human civilization is condemned to certain extinction. Imagine the stewardship of the ENTIRE EARTH being under the control of a mindless religious fanatic like Sarah Palin, who in her deepest heart thinks the Earth is a Motel 6 she's just “passing through” on the way to loony tunes salvation or damnation.
And McCain’s now pitifully obvious and growing dementia, plus his infinitely inappropriate acting out of male menopause (he makes sleazy remarks about sex every time he speaks in public, and boy does he ever leeringly check out Palin’s bod whenever she’s walking in front of him!), has morphed him into a monster from hell. McCain (or what’s left of him) is now WW3 incarnate and if elected, he will not only destroy America, he will quickly destroy much (most?) of human civilization. He seems to see himself now as The God of War (Alzheimer’s?) and will almost immediately start international chain reactions in which there will be more nukes cris-crossing the planet than birds.
Obama/Biden, don't you wimps understand ANYTHING? I mean are you both on life support? Are you taking meds? Don't you have any teeth -- or privates? No, we're stuck with a pair of lemons who are exact incarnations of the 2004 Congress. Remember that congress? You know, the supposedly Democratic Congress which was 100% put there by American Progressives (just like American Progressives were the same political force which won Obama the primaries).
In any case, that's the congress in which nearly all the dems worked it out that they could make 10 times more money if they stuck their heads up where the sun doesn't shine in the elites and pugs -- maybe that's part of the monkey "hear no evil" thing.
Obama, do you realize you are rapidly turning into a dirty word for millions of Americans? And this isn't talking about Republicans (hey, they LOVE you!), but centrists, moderates, independents, and most of all, progressives.
May I suggest a little test? IF the pugs win (and with morality-indifferent and America-betraying dipsticks like Obama and Biden, how can they possibly lose?), let's keep track of the house (or houses) in which good old Barack is living after the pug rape of America. Specifically, if the pugs win, let's see if in a relatively short time Barack Obama is living in a virtual palace.
You know, it truly isn't out of the realm of real world possibility that America's Dictatorship of the Rich has long sense "bought off" Barack Obama -- the election killer.
Yes, this is strong talk, but, alas, it's more that matched by these pathetically timorous men. We should never forget that only a few months ago this election, according to ALL the polls and basically ALL the most sophisticated and realistic political analysts was a slam/dunk. Of course, nothing in politics is ever really a slam/dunk, but at least you can take objective probabilities very seriously, and it seemed a near certainty that Barack Obama was going to be the next President of the United States. Yeah, in your dreams.

This is exactly right. I've been hopping up and down myself
Your article is exactly what I've thought about the 'underwhelming duo': My gosh, I mean at his most worked up, Obama only answers only a couple of McCain's smears a week and when he does, it is rather obliquely, like a milquetoast that is trying to answer back but it takes every thread of his being to bring himself to say something 'negative' about some outrageous lie McCain or Moose-Mother have just blazed across all the network news show soundbites. Obama rather tardily and way after the fact when everyone has forgotten what McCain even said, does Obama come out with a rather mild 'ainger' in a rather blithe and unthreatening way....He (Obama) doesnt launch into exposing or talking about the horrendous mountain of scandal that McCain deserves to be called on using the same television soundbites that McCain so quickly and cuttingly uses to great effect as evidenced by the poll numbers. Obama could be blaring McCain's hypocrisy and corrupt political record ...shout it all from the rooftops instead of waiting to go to some campaign stop after he and Biden have 'just been be eviscerated by the lying neo-cons McCain-Palin to make some policy statement laced with one or two minor barbs directed at the Bush successors. It just maddens me how underwhelming and tardy and non-proactive the 'above-it-all' duo are being as the deadline draws near to have the election. A good example of their(Obama/Biden_ ineffectual campaigning happened yesterday, when McCain accused Obama of being involved in taking money from Fannie Mae/Freddie Mac CEO now under indictment. What McCain leaves out is that when it comes to any money taken or involvement with Fannie/ Freddie and tons of other lobbyists, McCain is 169 times more guilty than Obama, but the Repugs get away with not only the lies but they repeat them often, even after they've been exposed in those lies....repetition over and over and over....until they pound it into the numbskull public who starts believing it. Conversely, Obama and/or Biden (never hear from Biden hardly at all) might mention McCain's lie(s) one time or maybe two at most and then they move on. No repetition, no rapid response. McCain has a response out within an hour or less to anything Obama might say, and then McCain launches into a whole new round of lies and all Obama can do is try to play weak catch up and show mild irritation at McCain's slander, maybe even a moderate bit of outrage, but nothing scathing. Can you see John Kerry all over again? Do the Democrats never learn from their past mistakes? It would appear not. Our future is at stake and all we get is wimp-and-scolding pie. Oh the snakes over at the RNC must be quaking in their boots. Thanks for your article. I guess the impatience of the rank and file Democrats with this bland performance is falling on deaf ears over at the DNC headquarters. by JOHN LORENZ (23 articles, 118 quicklinks, 119 diaries, 313 comments [25 recommended, 0 rejected]) on Saturday, Sep 20, 2008 at 4:21:57 PM

wimps on parade
John, Thanks for the rational response. Do these men even EXIST? I wonder if they're holograms. I swear to God, the only two explanations that make any deep sense to me is that Obama is being drugged and/or he's been bought off by the vampire elites. No living human being can be that stupid. Hatred is the beginning of all thought and action.
William Hazlett said that "hatred is the beginning of all thought and action". Yet, the left has brainwashed itself so that it is more concerned about earning virtue points than anything else. "A liberal is someone who walks out of the room when a discussion turns into an argument". Only hatred can counter the endless fear and anger. by John Hanks (1 articles, 0 quicklinks, 0 diaries, 1762 comments [39 recommended, 0 rejected]) on Sunday, Sep 21, 2008 at 9:42:38 AM

fundamental cowards
John, As is typical for you, your points are both true and wry. You know, I think you're right. I would be a total hypocrite if I didn't acknowledge to whomever that I certainly feel something like hatred for everything the pugs/elites stand for. It's ok to hate monsters. It's ok to hate people who are killing the planet. It's ok to hate people who have tricked your children into cannon fodder for money cow oil wars. It's ok to hate people who ALMOST CERTAINLY engineered 9/11. It's also ok to FIGHT BACK. And not only fight back, but also to FIGHT FOR. And typically liberals do neither. Isn't it maddening? Here's all these people who are the moral and rational core of the country, but who are basically life cowards. I think that's the word. They are simply fundamental cowards, e.g., Obama and Biden never stand up to ANYTHING. So, as usual (Kerry comes to mind) we have people who never "shoot from the hip". Thanks for your response. I don't expect you to always agree with me, but I have learned to appreciate your wry intutions. Solidarity, Bill by W. Agree to disagree
I do agree that it is frustrating when our canidates seem to allow McNasty and Barracuda to continue spreading their misinformation, half-truths, out and out lies and rarely respond. When they they do, they do so as gentlemen. I believe it used to be called "class". The problem is that class and good manners doesn't win you much in a street fight. I hope when the debates come around the gloves will come off. In that venue the Republican canidates can be confronted and questioned directly as everyone watches. If it happens it should be interesting. by Kathy Stuart (0 articles, 0 quicklinks, 0 diaries, 39 comments [9 recommended, 0 rejected]) on Sunday, Sep 21, 2008 at 3:59:52 PM

Reply: barbarians at our gate
Kathy, Your interesting remarks reminded me that once upon a time you COULD win elections with a touch of class. But, and I'm sure this saddens me as much as you, it seems that (at least for now) that time has passed and if you don't come up with some kind of kick ass (excuse my French) strategy for dealing with devil-like politicians (who didn't used to even exist -- mostly they appeared with the 3rd Reich loving Bush Family), you're going to be massacured where you stand AND you end up criminally betraying your country with your gentlemanly (and cowardly?) passivity. I keep thinking of my high school when the school bullies (who ALWAYS "fought dirty") rolled over everyone until the "good guys" got the message that they had to rise to the challenge of no-holds-barred fighting back. Well, however long it took us to "get the message", when the we realized what dirty fighting pigs we were up against, we dropped all pretense of "let's reason together" and went for the jugular. In short, we wiped the floor with them -- sometimes rage is the highest form of intelligence. Anyway THAT"S exactly what Obama & Biden (and Democrats of all stripes) HAVE TO DO. The alternative will be the total destruction of America (not much left to destroy, alas). Vile, evil, bullies (and killers) can't be dealt with any other way! My personal torture is that I know this with absolute certainty (and so do millions of other Americans) but there are just so MANY dead weight, gutless, enabling Democrats who justify their cowardice and passivity with rationalizations of "being civilized", that it seems a little hopeless. No culture, country, or civilization EVERY survied by being "civilized" with literal barbarians. And if ever the barbarians were at our gates it's now. by W.
