"Darkness enfolded darkness in the begin-ing
With no distinguishing sign
All this was Water.
The Life Force that was covered with emptiness,
That One arose through the power of heat
Desire came upon that One in the beginning;
That was the first seed of mind."
-Hindu Rig Veda
"And the Earth was without form and void
And darkness was upon the face of the Deep (feminine Tehom)."
-Genesis 1:2
In order for the world to change, we must change. It is no use to continue going through protests, revolutions and demonstrations in and of themselves. As George Bush in an uncharacteristic episode of insightful genius stated, "if they (the Iraqis) don't change, then we will." Real change comes from within and, ultimately, emerges from the Depths. These Depths, referred to in the physics of David Bohm, is the Unmanifest Implicate Order. It is into these depths where potentials abide in infinite number that we must go.
Epistemologist Gregory Baetson states that Nature's language is metaphor and that metaphor is a language that connects. In today's world, we are more likely to believe in a less evolved language that is often referred to as "concrete" as opposed to being metaphorical. Thus, if we say "Janice is a woman" we identify a person exhibiting a certain build and temperament with a particular function in life.
On the other hand, if we are speaking metaphorically in accordance to Baetson's definition, then Janice becomes more than a human woman. She becomes an entire universe. Indeed, in meditating on Janice, one can know everything from the behavior of the various factions on the planet Earth, to the relationship of Sun to Earth, and to the behavior of stars and galaxies in relationship to the infinity of galactic space. We can know via meditation a bit about what we were prior to our birth"and, ultimately we can know our Nature or Essence.
The linkage of Janice as woman to cosmic process is evident in our number system. Right at the beginning we have the number "0" which is nothing (no-thing). This number mirrors the primary shape of feminine genitalia. This number reflects the Universe in potential and the shape of an egg. Obviously, there is no baby without a man, so the first arising is the number "1" which is more phallic shaped and reflects the inseminating principle that entices the potentials that are ripe (eggs) to unfold into being. As such, the Tao Te Ching says:
