Standing for Voters
Dear Broward Voters,
Wake up Broward! It is time for a change in our election administration.
I am Ellen Harriet Brodsky, and am running as Broward’s first Non-Partisan Candidate for Supervisor of Elections to represent all voters of all parties and none without bias. It should be a no-brainer, that this office above all others must be non-partisan.
I am the Founder of the Broward Election Reform Coalition, member of the Palm Beach Coalition, Florida Voters Coalition, Miami Dade Coalition, League of Women Voters and the prestigious VoteTrustUSA.org leadership group.
I have been fighting for Voter Verified Paper Ballots since 2001. In 2007, I helped mobilize thousands of Floridians to de-certify the touchscreens. Snipes has been a staunch supporter of the unreliable touchscreens, blaming voters and pollworkers for all irregularities. She now says machine malfunction is “part of the process.”
The Supervisor’s motto is “Vote with Confidence.” IN THE COMPUTER SCIENCE WORLD, CONFIDENCE IS BASED ON SCIENTIFIC, DOCUMENTED EVIDENCE.
How can we “vote with confidence” when during the last election 54 precincts memory cards failed to read. In the post election audit, out of 16 precincts only 9 matched the machine results with the paper ballots, 7 were at least 5% off in only 2% of our precincts. How can we “vote with confidence” when election observers are barred from observing manual recounts as I was during the August 31, 2008 Judicial Contest. Snipes told armed police officers and her staff that she didn’t want me in the building. This is a violation of the Florida Sunshine Laws which states whenever the peoples business is conducted the public must be allowed to be present and participate. When I am disenfranchised from seeing and hearing how our
votes are being counted all Broward Voters are Disenfranchised.
In the January Primary our Supervisor certified an election with a 110% voter turnout in precinct D001. She said there was nothing she could do. As your Supervisor I will not certify any election that I cannot prove is accurate.
Our machines are counting backwards, 58,000 to 76,000 missing absentee ballots in 2004, still no one held accountable and the same folks are still running the show. No-bid contracts to ES&S without public hearings, secret software, no performance bond for the vendor to insure our votes will even be counted accurately. Highest number of incident reports, undervotes and provisional ballots rejected.
In 2007 our Supervisor had a catastrophic computer crash, and lost all our election records. I am Standing for Voters, I took the Pledge” go to standingforvoters.org. I am standing for fair, accurate, transparent and secure elections. My fiduciary responsibility is to you the voters, not lobbyists, politicians, vendors or party bosses.
My opponent, the incumbent, is a politician with the advantage of greater name recognition among those voters who are not well informed about election problems.
If I win, I will be able to continue my fight for fair elections on the inside of the process rather than from the outside.
If you are sick and tired of being embarrassed by Florida elections, then “Get it Right on Election Night” and elect Ellen Brodsky to be your next Supervisor of Elections. I want to make Broward proud.
Please go to http://www.runellenrun.com to learn more about me. Spread the word and tell 5 friends, and have them tell 5 of their friends that Ellen is “Standing for YOU the Voters.” That a vote for Brodsky is a vote for “Citizen Ownership of a Transparent, Participatory Democracy.” It is time for Snipes to go!
Thank you for all that you do.
