There are still some state actors, who have been providing support to terrorists fighting a war against people of tribal areas situated on Pak-Afghan and Pakistani security forces. So far, thousands of people have been killed in the fighting. Majority of the victims are innocent people. A child, who has lost both his parents, is still unware of the game being played by rulers of Pakistan. But he has suffered. Now Pakistani media has also been accepting the fact that some officials  provide moral and material support to terrorists.

It is absurd that some in high places continue to defend them. Force is needed to halt them before they inflict still greater damage. The stories emerging from Swat speak of terrorized people who feel helpless in the face of the brutality unleashed on them. These people live with militants who do not hesitate to kill, to maim, to beat or to ridicule. Business and indeed life itself in that once peaceful valley amidst tall mountains has been paralyzed. The military needs to immediately deliver on its promise to act decisively in Swat. There is so far little evidence that its operation is succeeding. The government's job is to ensure that this happens.

Though this will be an uphill task for Barack Obama to clear the mess in Pakistan, he is the only and last hope of millions of people. It is no exaggeration to state here that Barack Obama is the hero of millions of tribesmen as they think he can end their agony.

It is the demand of most of the tribesmen that democracy should be introduced in their areas. They think democracy is the best weapon against terrorism. The Americans have brought a big change in their country through democracy.

There are people who say that democracy has been introduced in Pakistan and now democrats are ruling the country, but this is atotal lie. The present rulers are worse than dictators. They are corrupt to the core. They have been using army against their own people. They have been killing their own people.

The present rulers have killed thousands of people in Bajaur Agency, but still the terrorists are roaming freely and issuing statements to newspapers and TV channels. It looks like they are the state men. They have been getting hero coverage in the media.

The banned Tehrik-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) on Thursday threatened to intensify attacks on the government installations and Nato supplies if the military operations in Swat and the tribal areas were not stopped.

A spokesman for the banned TTP, Maulvi Omar, made a phone call to The News from an undisclosed location and said their men would launch attacks on the government installations if the military operations against the militants in Swat and other tribal areas continued.

He claimed that a decision to accelerate attacks on the Nato supplies had already been taken and now the TTP militants would use all means to stop supplies to the US and its allies in Afghanistan.

Omar said Taliban would not allow supplies to the US and the Nato forces and their militants would blow up containers taking food and other stuff to the foreign forces. The threat particularly related to military operation in the strategic Khyber Agency against the banned TTP militants.

Why are the newspapers have been giving coverage to the criminals if they are really criminals? I think they are criminals, since they are responsible for the killing of thousands of people.
