Barack Obama combines the empathy of Robert F Kennedy with Martin Luther King Jr's passion for social justice and strikes a deep yearning, by both Americans and the world, for a spiritual leader who will not only unite us but join us to a universal chord of altruism, social justice and love that is deepest within each one of us: Allen L Roland

It's time to tell the truth, a truth that millions of Americans deeply feel but almost don't dare to express ~ for fear of being laughed at or that it might be an illusion ~ that Barack Obama is the embodiment of a deep hope and desire for the world to finally surrender to its innate urge to unite and complete itself ~ versus fragment and destroy itself.

Obama is, as such, the spiritual leader we have been longing for and by WE ~ I mean not only Americans but the world.

Europeans by almost 80% prefer Obama to McCain as the new leader of the free world because they sense what many Americans cannot see ~ Obama is a man in tune with a world that is coming together and his very presence speaks of service to a higher calling than the self serving deceptions and greed of the Bush administration and its obvious heir apparent John McCain.

Mark Morford, SF Gate columnist, recently captured this important moment in time as well as the Obama mystique ~ " No, it's not merely his youthful vigor, or handsomeness, or even inspiring rhetoric. It is not fresh ideas or cool charisma or the fact that a black president will be historic and revolutionary in about a thousand different ways. It is something more. Even Bill Clinton, with all his effortless, winking charm, didn't have what Obama has, which is a sort of powerful luminosity, a unique high-vibration integrity. "

Morford then brilliantly makes the spiritual connection which I can deeply relate to ~ for in my work as a spiritual psychotherapist I not only jump start peoples hearts but I am, in essence, training light workers.

" Here's where it gets gooey. Many spiritually advanced people I know (not coweringly religious, mind you, but deeply spiritual) identify Obama as a Light worker, that rare kind of attuned being who has the ability to lead us not merely to new foreign policies or health care plans or whatnot, but who can actually help usher in a new way of being on the planet, of relating and connecting and engaging with this bizarre earthly experiment. These kinds of people actually help us evolve. They are philosophers and peacemakers of a very high order, and they speak not just to reason or emotion, but to the soul... The unusual thing is, true Lightworkers almost never appear on such a brutal, spiritually demeaning stage as national politics. This is why Obama is so rare. And this is why he is so often compared to Kennedy and Martin Luther King Jr., to those leaders in our culture whose stirring vibrations still resonate throughout our short history."

Morford concludes his article by saying ~ " But there simply is no denying that extra kick. As one reader put it to me, in a way, it's not even about Obama, per se. There's a vast amount of positive energy swirling about that's been held back by the armies of BushCo darkness, and this energy has now found a conduit, a lightning rod, and is now effortlessly self-organizing around Obama's candidacy. People and emotions and ideas of high and positive vibration are automatically drawn to him. It's exactly like how Bush was a magnet for the low vibrational energies of fear and war and oppression, greed and aggression, but, you know, completely reversed. And different. And far, far better. The Obama Movement is real because it also touches a deep longing for our nation's original authenticity and noble origins. The last eight years under the black neocon cloud of the arrogant and self serving Cheney/Bush administration have almost erased the memory of these ringing words of Thomas Paine ~

"Never had a country so many openings to happiness as this.

Her setting out in life, like the rising of a fair morning, was unclouded and promising.

Her cause was good ~ Her principles just and liberal ~ Her temper serene and firm.

Her conduct regulated by the nicest steps, and everything about her wore the mark of honor.

It is not every country that can boast so fair an origin."

The time has also come to reclaim our noble origins and electing Barack Obama is an important part of this exciting and exhilarating worldwide transformation ~ that begins with ourselves.

How long has it been since we've felt so hopeful and so empowered ? How long has it been since we've had a true candidate of the people ? How long can we deny that Obama is the spiritual leader we have been longing for ?

I don't know what Mr. Roland has been drinking, but that kool-aid must have some punch. I have seen nothing to inspire me in any way from Obama, so, before I can endorse Obama, I will need to try some of that kool-aid; perhaps a couple of gallons might do.

Seriously, though, compare the voting records....

There actually are a few things on which McCain and Obama didn't vote the same way. VERY few.

I remember JFK and MLK, Jr., and Obama isn't anywhere close to being either of them.

There is no getting around the fact that Obama is a member of the do-nothing Democratic Party and a member of the most loathed and corrupt Congress in U.S. history.

If Europeans like him, they must not be too familiar with U.S. politics. but it would be foolish to trust an unsourced statistic. Was that 80% from an actual poll or was it a story planted in the mass media by political operatives?

Since Obama isn't against Bush's illegal wars and doesn't support impeachment, the only thing that Allen Roland can point to is Obama's "vibes." My personal experience with spiritual lightworkers is that they all tend to be pro-war. I've yet to find one that will refuse to vote for a candidate just because that candidate is pro-war. So while they may mouth the mantras of peace and love, they are voting for war. How spiritual is hypocrisy anyway?

The Dems have a third lackluster presidential candidate in a row and no amount of campaign spam can change that. Their only real selling point is to say that McCain is worse, and nobody would argue with that. The problem is that, comparing their voting records, you need a microscope to see the difference.

Don't be fooled. The Democrats and the Republicans are both pro-war, both pro-corporate and Obama and McCain are both pro-bailout.

The elections are rigged anyway, and everybody knows that either Obama or McCain will "win" the rigged "election." The only way to bring about change is to refuse to vote.

Boycott the election. Like Jim Hightower said, "If God wanted us to vote, She would have given us candidates." Democratic Party loyalists are like sports fans. No matter how lousy their team may be, they'll continue to root for the bums. But the future of our country is a lot more important than a ball game.

I hear cries for freedom elsewhere, while the US becomes less so. I hear support for free markets, then demanding a bailout due to incompetence.
I roll my eyes at those that accuse others being oppressed while the US has and still continues to the same and much worse. Laughing at pinheads who purchase and profit from those they curse.

Every time I return to visit I see a country I no longer recognize. A shredded Constitution, a spineless Congress ...

inspiration from Obama, and I certainly would not elevate him him to a level of Martian Luther King or John Kennedy either.

The guy is nothing but a sell-out and willing to do just as much as McCain will to be the next occupant in the White House.

The guy has changed on every issue he has ever stood for.

you want real change, vote for Mike Gravel in November, and vote a man of integrity and willing to end the War Of Terror being waged both domestically and abroad.

Obama talks great but do you think that he will actually live up to his words once he is elected? Every presidential candidate always says that they will do "this this and that" and they never end up doing half those things.

Don't get me wrong he is much better than Mcain, who is a war monger and who recently adopted a bimbo chic, Sarah Pailin, so he can get elected.

Obama Is As Crooked and Corrupt as McCain/Bush/Cheny

Obama is not a grassroot candidate and is not a messiah descending upon us out of the blue sky from Heavens to help us out the quagmire. He is part of the Establishment, which means corrupt to the core. He is the Elite's pick for presidency so as the government of the gangsters by the gangsters and for the gangsters may perpetuate itself for another 8 years and beyond. How much did he say about breaking down the Wall Street mafia swindling apparatus ? how much did he talk about impeaching the criminal Bush/Cheney cabal ? How much about a thorough and honest citizen investigation into 9/11 massmurder ? How much about cleaning up the Pentagon and slashing its budget so as the money may profit the needy instead of making wars upon innocents of the planet? How much about a universal health care system and a decent retirement for every American ? Did he talk about shutting off the corrupt electoral college and clean up the voting system? Did he promise to close down the mafia organization called the Federal Resrve ? Of course not.

Comparing the crooked and twisted soul Obama to JFK and MLK is an insult to those great fearless heros.

Having lived in Europe for 30 years I can assure you that Europeans are as dumb and duped as Americans when it comes to political matters. It is the same MSM propaganda oulets, the same lies , the same Murdoch, the same brainwashing system at work. Truth is never brought up. So, do not count on hapless Europeans for help.

McCain or Obama, two sides of the same coin. With either of them war has to go on, fearmongering and terror-mongering and accusing the innocents for US's crimes abroad will be on top the agenda as before.

Allen L Roland is, of course, smarter than that and is just teasing us. With all my due respects for Morford, he is not right on the spot when it comes to Obama.
