After finally ridding my computer of the horrible XP Antivirus bug (don’t even roll your curser over those ads! If you got it, let me know, I can tell you how to fix it) I was having some coffee and reading the news.
All over the MSM sites was the anthrax story being finally solved (just after the main suspect was found not guilty, I might add. what a coincidence! And this new suspect ”killed himself” so there will be no investigation. Case closed! My story to follow this) and I was reading the New York Times article which had some interesting facts that the other MSM sources didn’t.
Guess what? That 2 page story, as I was reading it, when I went from page one to page two, refreshed page 1… because that is all that was there. THEY REPOSTED THE STORY WITHOUT THE ODDITIES THAT THE OTHER MSM DIDN’T HAVE!!!
They shortened the story to one page by taking out some KEY information that they had originally posted with the story. I knew I should have copy and pasted it! (If anyone still has the original, please let me know!)
What they took out was very interesting. They quoted a doctor, who worked with the guy who is now being accused of the anthrax attacks, as saying he didn’t think the guy did it. They took that part out! They also took out the part where this guy received the highest Pentagon award a civilian can get for his research into an anthrax vaccine to be given to our troops in 2003. They took that out!And they also took out the part where this guy was cited for testing areas outside the restricted area for anthrax spores. And he found them, in someones secretary’s desk and keyboard! Remember how this stuff was found on the mail from the drop box? It bleeds through the envelope. So, when he found it in someones secretary’s desk and then on her keyboard, that might be a good place to start looking for the culprit. But they took that part out!
But they did add one thing. The reason I was reading the story again was because I was/am working on a story about the one thing they missed: motive. The guy had no motive and the original story lacked any mention of a motive….
Nowhere in the first story and many other MSM versions of this do they mention a possible motive. Nowhere. Well, it seems whomever is checking up on the “official” stories out there caught that little tidbit as well, and they have now added one. On line now in the story that was NOT in the original;
“Authorities were investigating whether Ivins released the anthrax as a way to test his vaccine, officials said.”NYT.
There we have it! The “official story” complete with motive from the ghostly, unnamed, who the heck were they… ”officials”. Because that is what “they” said.
The problem with that? It makes no sense!
How could he test the vaccine that he hadn’t GIVEN TO THOSE PEOPLE???!!! He didn’t send a vaccine to the reporter in Florida! He didn’t give it to those Senators! This is ridiculous. Moronic! Pathetic “thought police”, Ministry of Truth propaganda! It is offensively stupid.
And there it is, for all to see with some poor writers name on it. After he produced a good piece of journalism on the very important subject of who used anthrax against our press and our legislature, and then this is what happens when the Ministry of Truth gets ahold to his story. They chop it up, censor it, and put it out there for the MSM pundits to regurgitate for the masses.
That’s it! Case closed! The guy who “killed himself” did it and there will be no further investigation into the matter. You will accept this, write this and only this. And you will NOT INVESTIGATE further than what the “officials” tell you.

What still amazes me is how they gloss over the fact that regardless of who they make their patsy, the anthrax came from our own government laboratory at Ft. Detrick, Maryland. Where's the outrage? Why are we weaponizing anthrax, we're the good guy's aren't we? Fact is, and I don't have the actual statistics (take two minutes to research for yourself) that this country has destroyed more and yet still retains more chemical/biological weapons than any other nation.

I read something similar at CNN.com this morning and note that it changed later in the morning. FindLaw.com, though, has the original wording at this link - click here .

So OEN is hosting ads with malware? Sweet.
I'm not sure I attribute the significance to the rewrite that you do, but agree there's much more to this story. I can't believe anyone would try to sell the explanation that Ivins did this to test, or create demand for, his vacine. More likely, that he was unhinged and acted alone. I don't think the story will disappear. It isn't in today's print NYT at all. I assume tomorrow's will have the version you cited.
Would the federal shield law cover ABC's ass?

The link that I got the XP Antivirus bug from was not here. I was watching a video of Aaron Russo, and this ad came up infront of the video player screen. When I went to move it out of the way, it immediately installed the bug.
Be careful of that thing. The first thing it did, according to the virus scan log from the Norton Antivirus that I am running, was install three varieties of the Vundo Virus, then reset 300+ registry entries as well as 100+ changes to my start up.
It's a nasty little bug. I went to add/remove programs, uninstalled it, and before the screen cleared it out, it reinstalled itself.

Ah, there's nothing like the convenience of a dead lone NUT.
I suppose the theory is that if people can be convinced that Ivins was a real crackpot, then the lack of a plausible motive becomes less of an issue: How the hell do we know why he did it...he's a a nutcase...remember?...he doesn't need a "motive".
So anything that would detract from the mad-doctor image they're trying to cultivate, e.g., he received a high award for performance, would be removed from view, de-emphasized, etc., while anything peculiar (or that can be made "peculiar", e.g., by selective decontextualization), would be emphasized.

FYI, MSNBC changed its posted story from late morning to this evening. I had read two full pages before noon and had to break to take care of personal matters. When I clicked on page three this evening at a little before 8PM, page three was gone and page one and two had been rewritten. I too wish I had saved the original story, but it looks like others have. This is a prime example of media manipulation by "authorities."
Many microbiologists have died of suicide or "natural causes" over the past 25 years. Thjis poor man may have been the latest sacrificial lamb in a program to hide the truth about our ongoing biological weapons programs.

If you want the story as it was at 10:45 am, email my account here and I will send you the Word file with it.

believing in this story also believe that the Warren Commission and 9/11 Commission told the truth and nothing but the truth.
Convenient though. Anthrax skeleton is removed from the closet of the House of Bush. Just a matter of time before we blow OBL to smithereens making a positive ID impossible, but we will have key eyewitnesses, and perhaps a video of OBL before the strike. Mission Accomplished. Sure worked, GWOT has been won, just a little clean up for Osama in Afghanistan. Oil heads back to 80 dollars a barrel before the elections and then it's Obamas turn to be tested by AQ in his first year as Bush and Clinton were (so predicted Joe Lieberman), and Iran will attack Israel (snark) helping drive oil prices back up.
This gets reported on 8/1. 8+1=9, a magic number. Can't wait for what we find out on 8/3, as 8+3 = 11, another magic number.

I can't help but think that some " people" are now desperate
Every time I think I've seen it all, they go me one better. Isn't this just the most outrageously unbelievable bull$hit you've ever seen?
I think someone is getting desperate...REALLYDESPERATE.
Some more questions:
If Ivins was a complete nutcase, how is it he held a security clearance and worked with biological warfare agents? Security clearances come up for periodic review, don't they? If someone was having some real mental health problems, wouldn't that be an issue?
If, as a practical limiting factor, only a handful of people in the U.S. had the skills and the access to the anthrax to be considered suspects, what was the result of their lie detector tests? They did all take lie detector tests, didn't they?

the NYT just came out with a version of the story again...
... posted about :45 minutes ago, with tomorrows date on it.
It's good, actually. It points out that Dr. Ivins actually ONLY worked on vaccines and that his research was conducted with the anthrax spores...
...he didn't have access to the weaponized version of this strain of anthrax. and he wouldn't have had the capability of processing it to that refined level.
In short, he wouldn't have been one of those who had access to it, either.

To scare the crap out of masses so they can implement their plans to invade Iraq and take our freedoms away.
Look at the evidence or lack of (official version) and it should be obvious. Those still believing in the official versions of the lies are contributing to this society's demise. These idiots better get their heads out of their ass ASAP before it is too late.

Please connect the dots. Our government and media are evil and corrupt. Controlled by the same pshychopathic egomaniacs. Poor Dr. Irins was suicided. Just like the DC Madame and so many other innocent people.
As they say, history repeats itself. That is because these corrupt leaders use the same tactics over and over again because they work. Worked again with 9/11. This is what happens when the masses are ignorant of the past.
“Naturally the common people don’t want war. But after all, it is the leaders of a country who determine the policy, and it’s always a simple matter to drag people along whether it is a democracy or a fascist dictatorship, or a parliament, or a communist dictatorship. Voice or no voice, the people can always be brought to the bidding of the leaders. This is easy. All you have to do is tell them they are being attacked, and denounce the pacifists for lack of patriotism and for exposing the country to danger. It works the same in every country.” --- Hermann Goering, Hitler’s Reich Marshall, at the Nuremberg Trials after World War II.

Web 2.0 is on the way, certain American megacorporations have already been doing beta tests on censorship software in that fine bastion of human rights and freedom and the most wonderful Olympic showcase since Hitler's Germany - China. It's going to be rolled out domestically soon because the internet is a pesky menace to the oligarchy and the military industrial complex - they never in their wildest dreams realized the monkey wrench that it would become once people got out there and working to do research in a decentralized manner.
This story is a ruse in my opinion, the guy is a patsy because of the way that it spread throughout the MSM, now for a past example of how quickly that a story that the establishment does NOT want to spread one only needs to look at how quickly that our sex/talboid/sleaze obsessed media flushed the 'suicide' of the D.C. Madame down the memory hole.
Just my two cents

The recipients of the anthrax letters tell the most important story of all. Senate Majority Leader Tom Daschle and Senator Pat Leahy were leading the opposition to passage of the Patriot Act when they received their highly, weaponized anthrax spores. The two other targeted recipients were a tabloid newspaper, home to conspiracy theories, and one of the three major news networks, NBC, which tends more left than CBS or ABC. So, if your aim is to pass the Patriot Act and silence the main stream media, along with the conspiracy laden tabloids, these would be the targets you would pick. The result, as we have seen, is a spineless Congress and an unquestioning media in the face of the greatest crimes in our history.

the story i read spoke of ivan's financial ties to a vaccine patent. thus royalties would have amounted to a small bundle if the contract wasn't pulled for non-delivery. the implication was greed on ivan's part motivating him to cause a scare to revive the vaccine contract.
however, it seems more plausable that he was killed to prevent him from talking. if he was involved in the dissemination of the anthrax spores, he most likely was part of a multi-person cloak and dagger effort. as already noted, the timing of this scare was part and parcel of selling the iraq war to a skeptical public.
