NBC and Roger Cressey Warn of "White Terrorists" Plotting and Planning in the U.S. In an article on the front page of MSNBC’s site and apparently aired on national NBC and MSNBC stations, Robert Windrem spins a harrowing tale of the terror to come at the hands of people like you and me; American “terrorists” - Terrorists with “an American face.” Quoted in his article is Roger Cressey, an interesting choice to say the least. Think back to HR1955, Violent Radicalization and Homegrown Terrorism Prevention Act of 2007, the bill that promises to crack down on meetings of peace groups and the internet activity of “dissidents” like myself (and most of you reading this now). That bill has been sitting in committee, just waiting for the right moment to spring on a terrified nation. Remember the resistance HR 1955 received when they first came out with it? Well, just like the Patriot Act, sometimes bad bills just need a little good timing to get passed in congress without much complaint. So what is Joe Lieberman waiting for?
Windrem’s article is filled with the usual “Global War on Terror” boogie-man, and a hodge-podge of imminent threats (that may or may not not be credible, according to this article) and unsupported claims from unnamed sources about the dark nether-world areas where even drones do not like to fly. That nebulous area between Afghanistan and Pakistan seems to be where all the problems now come from. That same area where US forces accidentally killed 90 Afghan citizens, 60 of which were kids, some 4 weeks ago, and where we just recently used drone airships to kill another 20 or so just this past week.
Windrem’s entire premise for his article seems to be the fact that “white people” have been seen in the area. And then he spins his tale from that.
“More than anything else, it’s what one counterterrorism official calls “the white men of Waziristan” that worries officials - the increasing possibility that the next attacks in Europe or North America will be carried out not by those with Arab or South Asian passports, but by young Caucasian men from Germany, Great Britain, Australia, Canada or even the United States.” Windrem.
That’s a strange admission coming from “counterterrorism officials”, seeing as how “white men” didn’t knock down the towers or kill nearly 3000 U.S. citizens on Sept. 11th 2001. Did they?
“There is no bigger worry for the U.S. counterterrorism community than young Caucasian men who have turned to al-Qaida,” said Roger Cressey.” Windrem.
In this article, Windrem draws extensively on his interview with Roger Cressey, former NationalSecurity Council official in the Clinton and Bush administrations and now an NBC News consultant.
A little more research shows that Roger Cressey has the experience to know when a threat may be right on the horizon. You see, he was the National Security Council Director for TransnationalThreats from November 1999 through November 2001, serving both Clinton and Bush in that capacity. His task at that time was that he was responsible for coordination and implementation of US counterterrorism policy. It was, in fact, his job to prevent the attacks of 9/11.
Let me say that again; Roger Cressey was directly tasked at that time, leading up to 9/11, with the prevention of terrorist attacks on U.S. soil. And however you look at it, he failed miserably. Unless, of course, you happen to own oil companies or stock in the military sub-contractors who have turned massive profits since that horrible day. Then your opinion of Sept. 11th may be a little different than most.
Right after 9/11, in Nov. of 2001, was he reprimanded or demoted or punished in ANY way, by the well connected oil-people of this administration? No. In fact, he was promoted.
“He was Chief of Staff to the President’s Critical Infrastructure Protection Board at the White House from November 2001 to September 2002.” Wiki.
So aside from picking up big paychecks from NBC, owned by General Electric (a huge military contractor) and the Rockefeller family (Exxon/Mobile), what does Roger Cressey do now? Well, he started his own corporate security company Good Harbor Consulting. They have offices in the U.S. as well as in Abu Dhabi, the United Arab Emirates.

Subject not clear
Comment from Ratings: Is this about the truth or untruth of the existence of "white" terrorists or about the resume' of the guy who suggested it? Apparently the author thinks that discrediting the source of the information the article was written on is good enough to call into question the veracity of the whole concept of "white" terrorists. The one thing I do agree with that the author has written is that we should be wary of the timing of the article and it's subject matter to create a situation wherein Americans, out of fear, vote themselves into a totalitarian state. Reply: Oh it's clearly about the truth of the White Terrorists...
... the only thing is, the guy quoted in the article would be one of the first I would investigate because he certainly was one of the big winners in the "9/11 Sweepstakes". by scott creighton (25 articles, 11 quicklinks, 2 diaries, 244 comments) on Tuesday, Sep 9, 2008 at 6:13:28 PM

Mr Cressey is correct that white men
from the entire self-appointed former and current Bu$h cabal and congressional representatives being accomplices are the "Terrorist's" against the USA. Who should face Impeachment, and trials of Treason before being turned over to the Hague for War Crimes offenses. These "Enemy Combatant's" who have shredded the Constitution and passed legislation along with signing statements to support their agenda against innocent law abiding citizens, should serve their life sentences at Gitmo enduring what they have had others receive. Confiscate their illegally amassed fortunes and give it to humanitarian projects where the farce War Of Terror has been waged both domestically and abroad. To show the world no matter who you are or where you come from the US is serious about prosecuting "Terrorist's". by Stanimal (2 articles, 226 quicklinks, 38 diaries, 1254 comments [233 recommended, 2 rejected]) on Tuesday, Sep 9, 2008 at 4:20:21 PM

Beware the New Terrorist Scapegoat
Great article, Scott. I agree with you 100%. HR1955, known as the Violent Radicalization & Homegrown Terrorism Prevention Act of 2007, is nothing more than a heinous assault on the Bill of Rights, and is anti-American, to boot. This is NOT America; it's something very alien. Brings to mind Communist nations and Latin American dictatorships - all of which enacted eerily similar laws that targeted those they hated. Is this where we want to go, emulating those totalitarian states? Certainly not. Benjamin Franklin said it succinctly: "Those who would give up liberty for a modicum of security deserve neither liberty nor security". Enough said. by eileen kuch (0 articles, 0 quicklinks, 0 diaries, 151 comments [14 recommended, 0 rejected]) on Tuesday, Sep 9, 2008 at 4:27:50 PM

Reply: "This is NOT America; it's something very alien."
Very true. We put the perpetrators in charge of the investigations, and the zeolots in charge of rooting out the "terrorists". It is almost as if America has come full circle and returned to the oppression we suffered before our Revolution. Your Ben Franklin quote is quite appropriate. by scott creighton (25 articles, 11 quicklinks, 2 diaries, 244 comments) on Tuesday, Sep 9, 2008 at 6:21:26 PM

This just keeps gettin' better 'n better
Just when we showed the world that the surge is working, that if you pump enough bullets into fellow human beings, they can be subdued, we should get this, white terrorists? Our own, turning against our own? What now, Mr. President? We
have always had white terrorists in America. Thats what George Washington was, so say the British. He had the nerve to hide behind trees and fire on British troops. Imagine. Then you have had the KKK, the JDL, abortion opponents, and environmentalists. Crimes committed by these groups can be adequately handled by law enforcement and existing laws, and they are relatively rare events. Of course, Henry Kissinger in the 2006 Bilderberger meeting is said to have added anti-Globalists to the list of those America considers as terrorists. Anyways, Joe Lieberman says Obama will be tested by the terrorists in his first year in office as all American presidents have been tested since Bill Clinton (thats the elite terorrists testing our President, or empowering him). Thats probably what he is waiting for. My guess is it will be presented as Homegrown acting as an agent of al Qaeda, or perhaps as agents of Iran/Russia to set the stage for more Homeland security and another War. Then we have the FBI's expanded guidelines set to kick in on October 1, which will allow people to be investigated for exercising their right to Free Speech, like daring to criticize the government or accuse it of crimes. The Democratic do nothing congress will of course do nothing to challenge this. by pft (0 articles, 0 quicklinks, 0 diaries, 601 comments [7 recommended, 0 rejected]) on Tuesday, Sep 9, 2008 at 10:52:24 PM

Just another movement to a new kind of nation.
This may sound alien but it is home grown and nurtured in the intellectual soil of the Old Testament, Machiavelli and Leo Strauss among others who believe in the devine rite/right to rule and power uber alles is law. They tried it in 1934 and failed and have planned and started again in 1980 and have been busy. Both parties, all three branches of gov't, military, corporate media, marketing et al have been taking control and sending us down the path we are in. Weakening us economically to make us more desperate and overworked to not resist them. Moving in increments so that we won't become to alarmed with each change. Could imagine if all of the changes made since 1975 had been done in that year? People would have revolted but now if you just peacefully protest you get treated harshly and run the risk of death or serious injury or even jail time! This article is just another level we are going to. If you are for a cleaner environment you are a possible terrorist now. The no fly lists are getting longer and still no way to get off of it unless you have congressional pull. Beware for this is targeted at you and me to shut us down even before we start. by nightgaunt (0 articles, 0 quicklinks, 0 diaries, 448 comments [27 recommended, 0 rejected]) on Wednesday, Sep 10, 2008 at 3:39:55 PM
