“Centralization of credit in the banks of the state” – Karl Marx, Communist Manifesto
The steadily retreating stock market is reflecting a profound and deserved lack of trust which extends to banks, borrowers, mortgage companies, home buyers and finally to the stark realization that nobody, I mean nobody, trusts Hank Paulson and the Bush/Cheney administration : Allen L Roland

As Einstein once said, no problem can be solved from the same consciousness that created it ~ which is why it makes no sense to have Treasury Secretary Hank Paulson attempting to solve a problem that his unregulated financial policies helped create. It is indeed the fox guarding the hen house.

The crumbling Stock Market is telling us that the economy is likely to shrink by at least  0.9 per cent over the course of 2009 and suffer the first full year of recession since 1991, according to the latest quarterly forecast from the National Institute of Economic and Social Research.  http://www.ft.com/cms/s/0/87c90bf2-9fa0-11dd-a3fa-000077b07658.html

Layoffs are spreading across corporate America as companies reduce their payrolls in light of  the growing financial crisis.  http://www.reuters.com/article/newsOne/idUSTRE49G5N420081017

More families with children are becoming homeless as they face mounting economic pressures, including mortgage foreclosures, according to a USA TODAY survey of a dozen of the largest cities in the nation. http://www.usatoday.com/news/nation/2008-10-21-homeless_N.htm

Now watch this 7 Minute Video  which explains why Voters are rightly furious at the proposal to spend $700,000,000,000 that the government doesn't have to bail out Wall Street bankers who created the current economic crisis in the first place. But why then aren't we concerned about the trillions of dollars the Federal Reserve is pumping into the system? Or the trillions missing from the Pentagon? Or the quadrillion dollar derivatives bubble  ~ which is the economic black hole which could swallow up our whole financial system.    Click on ~   http://www.informationclearinghouse.info/article21071.htm

Nothing will change until Barack Obama is elected president ~ for that very act will at least be an important step towards restoring trust that something will eventually be done to right the wrongs of the unregulated and unrepentant Bush/Cheney/McCain administration.
