Jock-Shock: Has Rush Limbaugh just become the RNC's new speech-writer?

by Jane Stillwater     Page 1 of 1 page(s)

Tell A Friend

Judging from last week's speeches at the Republican national convention, all I can assume is that Rush Limbaugh wrote most of the material. The speeches were filled with such folksy half-truths, slurs and inuendoes that it appears Rush is becoming the RNC's new speech-writer and is replacing the more traditional kind who actually might have done their homework and/or talked about serious issues and proposed actual solutions to all the terribly distressing problems now facing America.

Did I say half-lies? What am I thinking! I'm now over here in China and functioning on only a few hours of sleep due to jet-lag. Please forgive me. "Half-lies?" Only half-lies? Focus, here, Jane. Like Rush, our guys in Minneapolis apparently have perfected the art of LYING THROUGH THEIR TEETH.

And expect more of the same in the days, weeks and years to come.

GW is a proud American from NY State, concerned about media manipulation and overconsumption. He believes in fiscal responsibility, small government and strict ethics. He recently changed careers to become an inner city schoolteacher. A firm proponent of international adoption and curbing overpopulation, he hopes to adopt a third child and enjoys history, "honest" music and art and obscure vinyl records.

I suspect Karl Rove is...

...writing the RNC speeches, supplying Rush Limbaugh (and Sean Hannity) with comprehensive talking points, scripting President Bush's every move and programming most of Fox News.

If it seems it's all the same, it is. Scott McClellan all but outed the practice here. The pity is that vapid personality-mania that has been dominating the media (Fox is the most viewed on TV) is being ported to the political stage in the belief people will vote for Palin because they sadistically love the pain, absurdity and spectacle of it all. I regret they may be right.

Maybe it should be who is writing for all of them?

It was some time ago when I found out that when Limbaugh strayed from the prepared talking points he would come back after break to totally contradict his previous statements without a problem. So I wonder indeed if he actually writes any of his material. Maybe now he has it all down and can regurgitate all of the points of view as given by the Dominionists he has worked for since 1988. Many such seemingly impossible things could now be true. We have 'food' without much nurishment and a poisoned environment so maybe so.

U S A-- U S A-- U S A...

You know how a child will mutter something over and over to drowned out the parent or a peer? The White Party seemed to do the same at the convention. Especially while the 'security" guards hauled off the Iraqi vet during the speeches.

Right, John McCain supports the troops..."USA USA USA..."

I utter back, BILL OF RIGHTS, BILL OF RIGHTS ...

Tally it up, 4200 Iraqi troops =dead, over 30,000 injured severely, 1 million Iraqis =dead, 4 million displaced, 1800 in New Orleans=dead, thousands SICK from poisoned UNMONITORED food and toys(some died), the economy = gutter, healthcare is a gamble and a joke, American social programs about to be scrapped: big cuts coming to states for road funding, cuts in heating assistance, cuts in housing programs, bail out the rich bankers AGAIN, and the list goes on and on and on and on.

USA USA USA, saying it makes it all go away, USA USA...
