Jimmy Dobson's "Focus on the Family" vomits a most despicable message.

Jesus of Nazareth opined that it is not what a man puts into his mouth, but it is that which spews from it, that defiles him. In "A Letter from 2012 in Obama's America," a 16-page pdf document accessed via the direct link below, that we find solid evidence the gentle soul was right on.

"Letter" is an attempt to warn all parishioners hinged on the far-right neocon Evangelical one-way door they had better vote for McCain and every down-ballot Republican lest they experience the end of all that is Christian, including their right to practice their faith.

Within the referenced sixteen pages are exhortations that foretell how, under an Obama-Democratic government, churches will lose their tax exempt status as a consequence of not endorsing gay marriages, how pornography will be ubiquitously foisted on young minds through all America, doctors and nurses, to retain their licenses, will be forced to perform abortions, euthanasia clinics will be in every town, the Second Amendment will be eviscerated by a jack-booted anti-gun regime, home schooling will be banned, religious speech will be outlawed, as will conservative talk programs, Christian publishers will be run out of town, the nation of Israel will be hit with nuclear bombs and missiles, environmental regulations will provoke waves of electrical blackouts across the land, a newly liberal Supreme Court will sanction the jailing of Christians, forcing them out of the country, to places like Australia and New Zealand.

Concluding this post is a reprint of just Page 1, the preface to the letter. The remaining excreta, as I noted, is available to those sadists not content with what is provided here, can glean through the link. But before I hit the "paste" button, I've a few thoughts of my own to include.

One, James Dobson and every mega-church executive should find the courage and the decency to excise from their minds and their promulgations the first six letters in "Christian." There is absolutely nothing "Christ" in much of what they push. As to the parishioners, my purely anecdotal experience is that they in fact no nothing at all concerning either American history or their faith.

What happened in 325 A.D.? What was it politically that Emperor Constantine was seeking to accomplish? Who was the person primarily responsible for selecting what texts would and which would not find their way into the tome called the Bible? Who was Eusebius? According to the Bible, to Genesis, when does life begin? What were the lessons taught by Jesus relative to the mote in your neighbor's eye and the Samaritan? According to Jesus, what do those who would follow him first have to do?

Don't know? Then please just shut up.

As to what the far-right seeks in the US, what it has sought from the start, is a theocracy, plain and simple; not a democracy, not a nation that embodies the pursuit of egalitarianism under the law, never has been, never will be. References to Biblical edict were employed to justify slavery. Similarly, Jim Crow and separate-but-equal sought validity through Bible passages that were interpreted specifically for that purpose. Inter-racial relationships were banned, and the Bible justified every such law and custom. The Bible was used as a weapon to keep women in their obedient place, and men in their authority positions - as the head of the Church, head of the family, as head of the corporation, as head of the department, the very passage stating the "servant is not above his master" was a bludgeon to beat back laborers in their struggles for fair treatment, and so on. And in our current election, a candidate's capacity to govern honestly and fairly was of no moment against his proclamation he was in fact "a Christian." Proffered suggestions, even fact-free rumors that he might not really be have been espoused as automatic disqualifiers.

Those in Evangelical hierarchy are not Americans, in that not a single genuinely American precept is acceptable to them. Nor are those who pliantly conform to church dicta and notion American. They do not subscribe to anything secular; it's their way, or the road to hell, even to the extent that they believe that unless they bring the nation to Christ, they themselves are also damned to an eternity in hell. Indeed, as "Letter" proves, they are as strident in their insistences as are the most violent zealots in the Muslim faith: no other god than Allah, and apostates must perish as infidels, lest the faith be contaminated, permitted to elide to that which is impure.

They have already corrupted the military academies, most particularly the Air Force Academy just north of Colorado Springs. Acceptance by squads and promotions through the ranks depends to a considerable extent today on a soldier's or a marine's demonstrated acceptance of the Christian orthodoxy. NO! These are not Americans. These are dictators in waiting.

Google John Winthrop. Google Jefferson's "Letter to the Baptists." Later. For now, read the preface to A Letter from 2012 in Obama's America." (Pay special attention to my bold emphasis in the fifth paragraph that illustrates explicitly the extraordinarily anti-democratic, anti-American orientation of these so called "Christian" sects.)

"What will the United States be like if Senator Obama is elected? The most reliable way of predicting people's future actions is by looking at their past actions. Jesus himself taught, 'You will recognize them by their fruits' (Matthew 7:16). Anyone who has hired employees knows that - the best predictor of a person's future job performance is not what he tells you he can do but what he has actually done in the past.

"So here is a picture of the changes that are likely or at least very possible if Senator Obama is elected and the far-left segments of the Democratic Party gain control of the White House, the congress, and perhaps then the Supreme Court. The entire letter is written as a 'What if?' exercise, but that does not make it empty speculation because every future 'event' described here is based on established legal and political trends that can already be abundantly documented and that need only need a 'tipping point' such as the election of Senator Obama and a Democratic House and Senate to begin to put them into place. Every past even named in this letter (everything prior to October 22, 2008) is established fact and has already taken place.

"This letter is not 'predicting' that all of the imaginative future 'event's named in this letter will happen. But it is saying that each one of these changes could happen and also that each change would be the natural outcome of (a) published legal opinions already written by liberal judges, (b) trends already seen in states with liberal-dominated courts such as California and Massachusetts, (c) recent past promises, practices, and legislative initiatives of the current liberal leadership of the Democratic Party and (d) Senator Obama's previous actions, previous voting record, and previous promises to the far-left groups that won the nomination for him.

"Many of these changes, if they occur, will have significant implications for Christians. This letter is addressed particularly to their concerns so they will be aware of what is at stake before the November 4 election.

"Some will respond to this letter by saying, 'Well, I hope hardship and even persecution come to the church. It will strengthen the church!' But hoping for suffering is wrong. It is similar to saying, 'I hope I get some serious illness because it will strengthen my faith.' Jesus taught us to pray the opposite: 'And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil.' (Matt. 6:13). Paul urged us to pray not for persecution but 'for kings and all who are in high positions, that we may lead a peaceful and quiet life, godly, and dignified in every way.' (1 Tim. 2:2)."

Borrowing from the above, the Republican Party, now dominated as it is today by the neocon, far-right extremist, most intolerant Christian sects, "you will recognize them by their fruits," (The passage in Matthew, by the way, concerns itself with Jesus' warning of false prophets.), they are the bigoted agents of intolerance that John McCain spoke of in his 2000 campaign, and that Nobel laureate Paul Krugman writes of in today's editorial, "The Republican Rump."

Once again, such are NOT AMERICANS!!!! There is nothing "American" about them! They are as much an enemy to "America" and what composes "America" as any al Qaeda terrorist or terrorist cell. By their own words they are what I have just accused them of.
