McCain's Misogyny

Tell A Friend

Getting 365,000 hits for a obscure conversation is astounding for a presidential race, but it is there and undeniable.  Check it out by searching for "McCain+c-word." Throw in another word, "trollop" and try it again. 365,000 hits.  It is incredible as much as it is gross, but it is a conversation that John McCain splattered his wife with, during his last election.  "At one point, Cindy playfully twirled McCain's hair and said, 'You're getting a little thin up there,'" Schechter writes. "McCain's face reddened, and he responded, 'At least I don't plaster on the makeup like a trollop, you c-word.' McCain's excuse was that it had been a long day." (from the Drudge Report, April 18, 2008)Does this distress you as much as it does me?  Using the "N" word would stamp-out his  election, but the N word applies only to  blacks, a significant percentage of our society. McCain could get by with calling the blacks  the N word, conceivably, and win the election. Calling his wife a "c-word" betrays McCain's thoughts on women in general and applies to a portion of our society that is larger than that portion of our society that McCain represents.

I would never call a woman a "trollop" or a "c-word."  It is not in my vocabulary, but it is in McCain's vocabulary and the Google search proves it.  Can McCain excuse his conversation?  No!  Should voting women excuse it? Remember, if the "N" word could lead to McCain or any other politician's defeat, using "trollop" and "c-word" to describe a woman, should put nails in McCain's coffin.

Blame the Media!

The public can't be blamed for not reacting to the "c-word" word, they can't react to what they don't know, and the don't know about it because the media has chosen not to expose McCain. I get the sense, watching him with his mother, and his wife, that he's stiff and uncomfortable. I don't think that boy's at ease with women - at all.

I heard he gets along with Hillary though, perhaps it's because Hillary's not comfortable with women either . . .

Uncomfortable

Being uncomfortable is misnomer. The man is "fish out of water." The Nation ha a good article on him.  If the press wasn't in love with him, they would point out his absolute failure (inability) at handling teleprompts.  He simply cannot use them, and he sure can't speak without them. The man is a joke at public communication. I'm hoping that the town-hall-meetings will do him in.  Right now, McCain is a man who is "faking it until he's making it," and I hope that will not last much longer.
