Has Kucinich Exposed the Dems Complicity?

Dennis Kucinich just released 35 counts against George Bush, calling for Impeachment. He is being ignored by the media. We all need to condemn the corporate media for their continued betrayal of the public trust by its silence on this. This betrayal is even worse than the corporate media aiding the Bush Administration lies that got us into the illegal, immoral invasion and occupation of Iraq.

It is true that the brave Representative from Ohio has been marginalized and demonized by those in the corporate media. However, we must remember that that marginalization and demonization have not just been by the corporate media. There have been many willing partners in crime from within the political establishment. The corporate media blackout has had allies.

For this blackout to be broken, Progressive Democrats of America, Move On and every other progressive group need to call for Senator Obama to publicly call for Impeachment. Make it clear that if he does not do so, right now, that they will publicly withdraw support from Senator Obama and publicly support Cynthia McKinney and/or Ralph Nader. We need to make the same case for every politician running: that if they do not support Kucinich that we will publicly not support them and will indeed support any Independent that runs against them, now and in the future.

Most importantly, having Senator Obama and others making it clear that they support an Impeachment investigation will force the corporate media to cover the story. This will then provide the evidence needed to convince the American public  just how deep and insidious the crimes of the Bush Administration are. This simple act of courage by progressive groups could propel Impeachment into the minds and consciousness of the public of our country. It can make the oft-heard term "holding their feet to the fire" have real meaning and relevance.

On the other hand, to not push this will do one thing and one thing only. It is unarguable that the Democratic majority has proven to be worse than spineless. For progressives to not publicly pressure the Democratic Party leadership in this manner will actually reward them for their cowardice. At this stage, this is the only leverage we have left.

Impeachment really is this important, and you all know it. Make them prove that Impeachment was not taken off the table because they had something to hide under the table. Or we can assume that they did have something to hide, in which case, they do not deserve our support. It will become undeniable that the Democratic Party leadership would rather lose the election to John McInsane and the Republicans than to push for Impeachment. It will be proof positive of their complicity, the fact that they are coconspirators in the crimes of the Bush Administration

If we all come to that horrifying reality, we can then be truly aware of how bad the situation is that we find ourselves in. It also gives We The People the responsibility to create real and lasting change for ourselves and the world in which we live.

It is up to us progressives. This is our opportunity to shine. We can choose to follow the courage and lead of Representative of Dennis Kucinich. Let us not waste this last opportunity for accountability. History can applaud us or history can condemn us.

The choice is ours to make.

I am who I am.
D WI am who I am.

Shame

The supreme arrogance and ignorance of America is that it has erroneously led its people to believe that they should be the ones bringing freedom and democracy to the nations of this world.

I think this natural ignorance comes from an inherent ultra-patriotism. This is the belief instilled in every American, from birth to death, that there is no greater citizen, no greater country, and no greater way of life than America.

This criminal Bush "administration" has deviously and immorally taken this ultra-patriotism, and unified it with intense propaganda to manipulate the public's perception into supporting its illegal aggressions. Anyone speaking out against their policies is labeled unpatriotic. This is textbook historical fascism at work.

What the leadership of the U.S. has effectively done, is transport the public's fear as an American form of terrorism onto the innocent Iraqi civilians, whether out of anger and retribution for 9/11, or out of arrogance and ignorance. I suspect all of those reasons. Most of the American public will not recognize or accept this as fact.

You want to end this war? Start by consistently showing the American public the daily effects of it on the Iraqi people. Without censorship. Show the blown-up bodies. Show the dead and wounded children. Show the grieving families. Anyone criticizing this as blatantly indecent, should question the decency of what America has forced upon Iraq.

If the American public was truly exposed to the realities of what their government subjects the peoples of other nations to, they would not be so quick to send their children off to war, and they'd think twice about the decency of their own "Christian values".

The media is complicit to the many crimes of the Bush "administration" and its unncessary war. They've anesthetized the public to the horror of Iraq. They've turned it into entertainment and ratings. But more than that, they've conspired to collectively manipulate U.S. public opinion. The media, the Congress, and the so-called Bush "administration" have all failed the innocent citizens of America and Iraq, in whose blood their hands are soaked with.

If the Democrat-led leadership in Congress had the guts to impeach this criminal president, they would find that not only would they have the support of a majority of the American people behind them, but also the backing of the rest of the civilized world, all but guaranteeing a Democrat win in November for the White House. However, the Democrats won't impeach because it threatens to reveal the full extent of their complicity in the government's abrogation of the Constitution.

Their inaction will leave a deep and lasting national wound, rippling down to the next generation with unforseeable consequences. It is imperative for Nancy Pelosi to do what is necessary in her charge to protect the current, and future, interests of the American people to whom she represents, so that a process of national healing may begin. And this can only start by holding the architects of these crimes in the Bush "administration" accountable to justice. History will not look back kindly otherwise.

Patriotism is one of America's greatest strengths, but it can also be it's greatest weakness. The true strength of America has always been the foundation set forth in its noble laws and Constitution. To continue to ignore those cherished laws now in the republic's time of need, is a crime in itself, and indeed it may even be a greater one.

A great commentary - and 100% Truthful!

The complicity of the Democratic Leadership is breathtaking... The Articles of Impeachment were well laid-out, accompanied by legal cites and substantiation, yet the Democratic Leadership still refuse to go along with impeachment hearings. At this point, it appears that we are fighting for the essence of Democracy - and if we don't win, the disaster will affect the fundamentals of our constitutional based government.

I fear for free speech and the democracy we have enjoyed for so long, and I noted today that Senator Lindsey Graham wants to strip Habeas Corpus from our constitutional rights:

Sen. Lindsey Graham (R-S.C.) vowed Thursday to do everything in his power to overturn the Supreme Court’s decision on Guantanamo Bay detainees, saying that "if necessary," he would push for a constitutional amendment to modify the decision.

Graham blasted the decision as "irresponsible and outrageous," echoing the sentiments of many congressional Republicans and President Bush. http://www.dailykos.com/story/2008/6/12/17277/3723/62/534898

This seems to be gearing-up as a fight for the constitution and the Bill of Rights itself and goes to the very heart of Democracy in America. This is a fight we must join, and we must win; if we don’t, freedom and democracy will be nothing more than memories.

I'm 110% for impeachment, but to imagine that Obama would

even consider "calling for impeachment" or that PDA & MoveOn would ever "pressure him" to do that, is to seriously misunderstand what Obama represents (he is 100% Establishment) and the nature of organizations like MoveOn (they are simply appendages of the Democratic Party).

Has Kucinich exposed the Dems' complicity? Sure he has -- perhaps in more ways than he intended to. His 35 articles of impeachment were very well drawn up, & he deserves credit for this -- in glaring contrast to the cowardice & utter dereliction of duty, of almost all the other 230 or so House Dems.

However, Kucinich himself voted to send the bill to committee, where he knows perfectly well that it will die a quiet death. And he continues to defend his party, & to say protective things about Nancy Pelosi (see his interview today on DemocracyNow!). So he himself, to some extent, is guilty of defending things that cannot honestly be defended.

Maybe, but maybe not!

With Robert Wexler co-sponsoring the Bill, I believe that Kucinich believes that hearings may be forced by Wexler - or at least that's my hope. I can't speak for Op-Ed News, but I have noted that the traffic on my site is extremely heavy with hits from the District of Columbia. I believe that Congress and their aides are keeping a close eye on the mood of the people and the many sites that are joining-in with the impeachment effort.

It's also possible they are getting ready to target those of us who are pushing hard, but I believe it's not that, but attempting to monitor exactly how much public support is behind this issue. I have never seen this many federal entities reading my site, and the others who are anonymous, but nevertheless based in Washington. I'm going to remain an optimist and hope that we are finally reaching a "tipping point" where public opinion is becoming so outspoken that the politicians know they will have to pay the price if they continue to support the Bush administration.

It could also be wishful thinking on my part...

Again, this effort must be suppported ..

yes, the infowarfare is enormous.  At night I think about the guy who watches my blogposts!  I wonder if he's actually for impeachment himself.  (Boeing also makes regular "stops" . as I posted long and loud about RENDITION !!

On c-span waiting to hear what John Conyers has to say ...

WAR CRIMES DOSSIER: Remove Nancy Pelosi, end the infowarfare

I want to put in some additional information right here on top.

Nancy Pelosi can also be removed by state legislatures. This activity has been going on "behind the scenes". An unusual move to be sure, and it's never been "tested" but is entirely within the Constitution. With the release of the DoD emails and McClellan's book, the legal activity is feverish to get out all the relevant indictments.

While other petitions calling for Pelosi's removal can be signed only by US citizens, I offer the following information .. Anyone can sign Scott Creighton's petition against Nancy Pelosi.

The moment is ours - let's now seize it!

- Please circulate widely -

Now that the Articles of Impeachment (H Res 1258) have been read out clearly by Dennis Kucinich, a good time for a reminder that we must REMOVE Nancy Pelosi, and keep calling the states' Attorneys General throughout the day .. This is what must be done as we wait for more whistleblowers to confess and for more cosigners to come forward to co-signers of the resolution.

We know that PELOSI will attempt to block impeachment proceedings and this would make the United States a FAILED NATION that cannot police itself.

Pelosi must NOT be allowed to serve as President as the Constitution stipulates.

http://www.petitiononline.com/ev...n/ petition.html

Above is the link to sign the petition for Pelosi's removal as Speaker of the House and can be signed by non-US citizens.

Those state Attorneys General who do NOT pursue WAR CRIMES prosecutions will ALSO be guilty of war crimes very soon. They MUST uphold Geneva or ELSE. And remember: what has happened must NEVER be allowed to happen ever again. That is the legacy of Nuremberg.

Many of them are reading the notes on prosecutions NOW and lawyers from the ACLU and the NLG have filled them in on details in the past few months.

The lawyers for We the People continue working hard on the prosecutions leading to WAR CRIMES convictions ..

My entire blog has all the relevant information available http://ladybroadoak.blogspot.com/2008/02/special-prosecutor-information-plz.html

and a free swicki on war crimes and Constitutional criminality is available, and the link includes the free .pdf on Bush's international war crimes, applicable to ALL the global war criminals in the GWOT.

Did Nancy Pelosi just think everyone sat on their backsides for the past eight years ???

She will find out there is NO statue of limitations on WAR CRIMES (as if she didn't know that - she has access to legal advisors.
She may be the most despicable female on the planet after Condi Rice, Harriet Meiers and/or Karen Hughes .. although someone mentioned Madeleine Albright recently. )

As you go about your business of the day,

REMEMBER

1 million Irakis are assumed to have died
4 million more are refugees - many undocumented
(children are being used as prostitutes !)
The war in Afghanistan continues
The kangaroo courts in Guantanamo Bay are illegal
In the vast archipelago of black sites the torture continues
Depleted uranium weapons are illegal
9/11 TRUTH has yet to be exposed
The US economy is in a nose dive and must be fixed
Palestinians have a right of return
The War on Drugs is a total failure
Earthchanges are upon us
US Elections are still rigged

The human suffering must be stopped
and it is NOT "business as usual"
after a war that has lasted longer than WWII !
just to name a few of "The Problems"
and We the People have the power, really.

Don't be so "pre-occupied" like Nancy you don't sign the petition;
it's not "business" as usual now that the DoD emails have been released
and Scott McClellan's book has come out.

. . .

Genocide is the Supreme international crime.

NO ONE IS BEYOND THE LAW

We the People should have our WAR CRIMES indictments finished by June 16th or so, that includes the information on how INFORMATION WARFARE was used against us..

(The videos of the Kucinich and the other presentations are available on youtube.)

Meanwhile, can you have your friends discuss this new solution as what has happened can never be allowed to happen to the American democracy again
. . .

State Legislatures Moving To Remove Pelosi As Speaker

"How's the effort to remove Pelosi as speaker?", you're wondering . .

1. Identified the legal precedent to have her removed:

http://www.gpo.gov/congress/hous...text/ hrm14.html

"Speaker may be removed at the will of the House, and a Speaker pro tempore appointed, 2 Grey, 186; 5 Grey, 134."

2. Identified the mechanism by which the state legislatures can review the charges against the Speaker; and pass a resolution calling for the House to remove her.
House Rule 603 Permits the States to Pass resolutions calling for changes in leadership:
http://www.impeachbush.tv/impeac...each/ rules.html
Also, note this:

"A resolution for the removal of an officer is presented as a matter of privilege (I, 284-286; VI, 35), and a resolution declaring the office of Speaker vacant presents a question of constitutional privilege (VI, 35).

http://www.gpo.gov/congress/hous...text/ hrm14.html

2. Draft indictments against the Speaker have been written: Charges, allegations against the speaker warranting her removal as Speaker:

- A. Allegedly aiding and abetting enemies of the Constitution: Assenting to agreements which are not the Supreme Law, but acting is if those alleged agreement were Supreme, in defiance of her oath of office.

- B. Alleged breach of her oath of office: Having mental reservations about whether the Constitution is or is not the Supreme Law, as evidenced by the decision to allegedly thwart, block, and not permit review of evidence related to impeachment; and

- C. Allegedly bringing discredit upon the house -- failing to enforce the Constitution; blocking investigations into illegal misconduct.

Please forward the above links to your friends, State Attorney Generals, and Legislatures. This will form the basis for the removal for the Speaker; and for your State Legislatures to debate a proclamation calling for the House to remove Nancy Pelosi as Speaker.

Well Well Folks

It looks like my little contribution is causing quite a stir. Thank you to Op Ed for pushing to the headlines section.

Like I said, the Dem leadership, PDA, Move On and others are in quite a bind.

If they do nothing, then that means that they are indeed hiding their complicity. If they push it, then Impeachment investigations will start.

Thank You Representative Kucinich. I am not sure if you intended this or not but thank you none the less.

OK folks, now we get serious about challenging this EVERY WHERE.

I propose by starting on Air America, in the call in shows like Ed Schultz or Thom Hartmann. We need to be crystal clear here.

Start impeachment investigations NOW or we will all know that you are hiding something, in all probability your complicity.

That includes a public statement from Barack Obama. Nothing less will be acceptable.

We can make this Change We Can believe In, for real.

You're right... can we do it with the time we have?

This has occurred to me for quite some time.  The glaring problem with this is that the corporate media has instilled in the sheeple so deeply the idea that there are only two parties in this damned race.  I point to the recent Hillary supporters will vote for McSame rather than Obama as testimony to that sad fact.

I like Nader and his ideas... always have.  Problem:  I voted for him in 2000 - we got Bushwhacked.  Now, we are stuck with the catchphrase "A vote for Nader is a vote for Bush"... and its lingering after-effects.  The costs of another blown election are devastating this time.

The Libertarians?  Faulty logic there.  Sure, we would love to have less government involvement altogether, but there are too many people who are victims of the current system.  We can't simply abandon these people to their own devices by switching to a new way of governing.

I think that our Presidential primary was completely corrupted and that as nice a guy as Obama may be, and that is an unknown factor, it does come down to the fact that the mainstream media only let us hear the voices of their precious three and disappeared the others fairly quickly.  Doesn't this highjacking make the whole process invalid?

Can't we un-ring that bell and start over and be allowed to run primaries again, the right way, giving all contestants an equal voice?  Because, I felt and still feel that Dennis Kucinich would be the best person to lead America both in domestic and foreign policy.  He has profound respect for all persons, all life and the environment and is himself, unimpeachable.  For sure, if the media had anything at all on him, we would know it.  For sure, the corporate media usurped our ability to elect our own President.

Kucinich exposes Democratic hypocrisy

In a single act of cowardice and betrayal, if not treason, the US congress has 'scuttled' the Articles of Impeachment drawn up and carefully researched by Dennis Kucinich. The US government, therefore, may no longer assert or claim legitimacy. By turning a blind eye to the numerous specific crimes that Kucinich outlined and proved in some 35 Article of Impeachment, the people are left adrift. There is no rule of law!

WASHINGTON - Democrats in the House of Representatives yesterday scuttled a colleague's proposal to impeach President Bush on a wide range of charges, including lying to the American public about weapons of mass destruction in Iraq, torturing war captives, and misleading Congress in an attempt to destroy Medicare.

By a 251-166 vote, the House sent the 35-count articles of impeachment to the Judiciary Committee, which is expected to let it die without further action. While the vote technically forces the measure to the committee for consideration, it also means the full House will avoid having to debate and vote on impeaching the 43d president.--

Democrats scuttle proposal to impeach Bush
According to Boston. com "no Democrats [sic] voted against the resolution to send the measure to certain death in the Judiciary Committee, but 166 Republicans voted no - a tactic designed to force Democrats to address the measure publicly."

Yes, absolutely

They hope that it all just blows over so they can continue whining about how "bad" Bush is and then continue to go along with him. They are probably drafting a new bipartisan law right now to cover Bush's butt on the latest Supreme Court ruling, like last time the Court ruled that Bush was operating outside the rule of law.

It's especially amusing how they pretend to be outraged over the billions going to crooked contractors, but keep sending them truckloads of money. Makes no sense. So yeah, they are complicit.

Excellent! Move On etc. being allies of impeachment blockers

Remember the Criminally Insane Are To Be Pitied Most

Let's be candid about the obstruction of justice no longer being the only crime to accuse Conyers and company of, but complicity in the continuing mass murder of the occupation wars - actually now more than complicty, rather prime guilt being that the articles of impeachment have been filed and/but criminally buried. E.g. see below article:

Friday, June 13, 2008
Conyers Himself Answered, So I Told Him He Was The Most Guilty
(10 comments) I called Rep. Conyers's office, and was surprised to reach the Congressman in person. I charged that, because he was blocking the impeachment process, I held him even more responsible than Bush for the ongoing disaster in Iraq. Conyers didn't hang up.

Who is more guilty, more criminally insane? Bush, Cheney, or Pelosi and Conyers. Remember Conyers is the lynch pin of Bush, Cheney, impeachment denial.

Call 'em all, Conyers, Judicial Committee Members, Move On, etc. and when speaking or leaving messages keep in mind the insane are to be pitied, whether criminally so or not.

Fine article.
