HEY MON! YA GOT YERRR ‘ED UP YERRR KILT!!

(An Open Letter)

TO: JOHN Sidney McCain III better known as Senator McCain and currently the Republican Presidential candidate to succeed George Walker Bush.

As descendants of Scottish ancestors we both have something in common, you by way of JOSEPH McCAIN born in Scotland, 1773, and me by way of WILLIAM WALLACE born in Scotland, 1852. We have some common inherited values that go a long way back.

Foremost among these is the singular issue of the understanding of freedom and independence from the monarchal rule of Kings won in the pitched battles between the Highlanders and the Kings troops best put to rest on the field at Bannockburn.

How much of that value system is present in your current mindset after centuries of Scottish struggle for the freedoms won by such historical characters as William Wallace and Robert the Bruce, not to mention your father and Grandfather (also Scots) as Admirals of the US Navy whose duties were involved in the struggles of WWI and WWII for they surely believed they were fighting to preserve freedom and democracy!

In my case, a father that served in the Federalized Utah Guard in the Border dispute with Mexico 1916 and later as a kilted member of the London Scottish Regiment manning a machine gun in the trenches of France in WWI.

I was not called upon to serve in the violence of WWII as too young, or the later Korean War because I had a deferment as a minister. Still later, I was deferred from the Vietnam conflict in which you served and suffered capture and torture at the hands of the North Vietnamese.

My life has been dedicated to the proposition that a Supreme Being exists and that man needs only to comply with the best rules of existence amply learned by history that violence to enforce peace only begets violence ad infinitum. I believe hat personal greed and a quest for power along with empire building is a dead end road always lost and ended after years of violence and injustice administered against innocents. Justice is the only remedy for violence and terrorism!

 With our Scottish roots, I want to point out your apparent lack of ability to understand that history forgotten is a consignment to its repetition.

 The expression heading this letter is one in common use by Scots and is translated to mean much the same as one spending his/her time contemplating his/her navel i.e., NOT THINKING . That is to say one’s brain is in first gear and can’t seem to get into drive. Limited learning trapped in the Limbic System of the Brain Stem may be a better way of defining what is meant by the expression.

 Using that term I will ask you some basic questions about the history of the United States and its leaders over a period of some two hundred years. If you aren’t aware of the true answer to these questions, I will say,” yerrr head is up yerrr kilt!”

 So first-----Did you know that the war you fought in and suffered time as a prisoner of war in was an illegal war? Did you know that your President and commander in chief, Lyndon Johnson, was a war criminal; that he staged and lied about the Gulf of Tonkin? That he simply followed the script of presidents before him in staging, or falsely claiming, an attack on an American military unit (False Flag operation) as an excuse to send fifty thousand drafted troops to their deaths and untold hundreds of others to a post war life of drugs and degradation for the atrocities they were called upon to inflict upon innocent Vietnamese citizens?

 Did you know that present America was built upon lies, cheating and genocide by its leaders who set out to fulfill an insane mandate (Manifest Destiny) inferring America had a DIVINE destiny to rule the earth and that anything they did to accomplish it was sanctioned by the Almighty.
