unemployment by public domain

The conservative politicians and talk radio pundits continue to rail against extended unemployment benefits. They argue, that there are thousands of jobs available but those big fat unemployment checks make workers prefer to stay home and watch "The View."

It is nothing new really, Henry Ford once said, "a working man won't do a good days work if he can get out of it." Ford would know, having crashed the first two Ford motors companies, leaving investors complaining of Ford's unwillingness to do the job that he was paid to do.

With un-noticed irony, Conservatives want to lower the capital gains tax so that those who don't work for their money but only invest for it, can earn more. The unemployed are called lazy while the investor is called an entrepreneur which ironically rhymes with manure. I myself am unemployed and I'm willing to take any job with the following restrictions.

I must be paid a fair wage.
I must be treated with common human respect.
The job must be within my physical capabilities.

When I was twenty I took a job with a roofing crew carrying shingles on my shoulder up a ladder and on to an icy roof. I'm 53 years old, I can't do that job anymore. Ditto for lumping trucks or climbing trees. In high school, I worked fast food, if you've never done that before, then you don't know really know what a slippery floor is all about. So should you take a job with no health insurance benefits for minimum wage that might potentially cause you to injure yourself?

You keep thinking that something will turn up. Then you begin to apply for jobs you don't even want. As they turn you down it begins to affect your self esteem, it also begins to affect the esteem that others view you in. Then you read the conservative pundits and politicians talk about you as lazy and milking the system. Living the life of Riley on three hundred bucks a week. I don't even get that, I was self-employed. I live on two hundred dollars a month food stamps and whatever side work I can hustle up.

So let's take a look at all of these great jobs that Americans are just too lazy to take. Jobs with which they could earn a fortune and live the good life if only they would stop being so damn lazy and try!

Excellent Job !!!! With Excellent Pay!!

XXXXXXX Construction LLC. Provides insurance restoration services throughout Metro Atlanta. We are currently looking for motivated sales professionals for our residential and commercial divisions.

Claims Consultant Requirements:

Sales experience is a plus, but not required. Will train motivated individuals

This is a scam, you convince homeowners that their roof was damaged in a storm. Then they file a claim with their homeowners insurance to pay for the cost of a new roof. You're working for the roofing company and long gone when the homeowner gets his new home owners insurance premium notice.

I who am I? Born at the pinnacle of American prosperity to parents raised during the last great depression. I was the youngest child of the youngest children born almost between the generations and that in fact clouds and obscures who it is that I (more...)
