Washington DC (BobZaguy) The Bush Presidential Library Foundation announced today that beginning in 2009, the library will honor Americans far and wide with the Annual Bush Legacy Shoe medals for demonstrated personal action and behavior. These medals will also be called the Muntadhar al-Zeidi Memorial Shoe Hurl.
Whether it's a Cowboy boot, loafer, flip-flop, stiletto, sling-back, platform or oxford, the soon-to-be former president, "SoToBeF" to his friends, claims the "Presidential Touch" is that he has either had one thrown at him or he has worn the shoe personally.
These awards will commemorate the date of the first-ever, historic Iraqi cameraman shoe hurl which happened on Dubya's final Baghdad war tour press conference at the hand of Muntadhar al-Zeidi. The award shoes, which "SoToBeF" will personally throw at the future awardees, are a variety of styles to match the person receiving the medals.
K-R said that as one example, "Maureen Dowd is to receive the first-ever Bush Legacy Wedgie. It's a two-part award, first the thrown shoe, of course, and then the bonus underwear yank, just like Dubya's frat days at Yale. He did so love giving and receiving those frat wedgies. And now he gets to give one to a woman!"
SoToBeF said as he grinned wider than A. E. Neuman, "This award will be perfect for Dowdie. It's what she's been doing to me for the past eight years. One giant ball-squeezing after another. Man, she so deserves this one."
Shoe award catagories will be –but not limited to:
• Political: Cowboy, Loafer –both plain and penny, Flip-flop, Hush Puppy, Wedge (the only visual 2-part award), Sandal, Track –Alaskan recipients only;
• Male: Wing tip, Spectator, Oxford;
• Female: Stiletto, Flats, Pump, Mary Janes, Sling-back, Slip on;
• Unisex: Golf, Snow, Running, Tennis, Hi-tops, Hikers, Riding, Platforms, Slippers, Huarache.
SoToBeF and K-R, were truly giggling together as they unveiled the list. "Hey K-R should we leak who is going to get the first Flip-Flop Award? Or make 'em wait?"
