The President held a bilateral meeting with Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Commander of the United Arab Emirates Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed al Nahyan , then an expanded bilateral meeting with Crown Prince Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan in the Oval Office of the White House. Readout

The President met with United States Secretary of Defense Robert Gates in the Oval Office. Source

The President issued a Presidential Memorandum to the United States Secretaries of State and Defense directing the drawdown of up to $25 million in nonlethal commodities and services from the inventory and resources of any agency of the United States Government to support key U.S. Government partners such as the Transitional National Council in efforts to protect civilians and civilian populated areas under threat of attack in Libya.

The President sent a letter to leaders of the United States Congress, urging Congress to take immediate action to eliminate unwarranted tax breaks for the oil and gas industry, and to use those dollars to invest in clean energy to reduce U.S. dependence on foreign oil.

T he President traveled to Chicago, Illinois, where he and First Lady Michelle Obama taped an interview with Oprah Winfrey for the The Oprah Show.
