So what do we, as Americans, do when we see multiple parallels between the laundry list of grievances levied against the eighteenth centuries England and its King George, and our own modern Monarch, George W. Bush and his army of cronies? First, accept that parallels exist. Then take advantage of the freedoms still available to us and speak your piece. Contact Congress at the local and national level. Inundate them with every manner of modern communication. And attempt to involve others in the process of becoming aware. Educate, Communicate, Coordinate, and Commit to the process of orderly revolution.
If we Americans fail in our efforts to protect and serve, America as a country will not go away. The cruel irony is that the day after Democracy is surrounded by absolute countervailing forces; America will still be open for business. It will look the same. There will still be drive thru fast food, Super bowls, strip clubs, and sit-coms, and bumper to bumper traffic. The illusion of normalcy will convince all but the dwindling number of democratic purists that all is still right in the world. Thus, the bulk of the population will quite literally be fat dumb and happy.
I know, you’ve heard it before…IT’S 1776 ALL OVER AGAIN.
