Prepare Yourself. Prepare Yourself. Open the Way!

Cancer is 'ruled' by the Moon, meaning that the Moon shapes the energy of the sign of Cancer. The Moon changes shape (shapeshifter); the Moon brings motion to Earth's Waters (e-motion); the Moon is the form giver (Mother). Feelings are consciously named emotions, and we have to be able to express our feelings to stay emotionally and physically healthy. Our feelings help us understand our needs, which change as we grow older. Our feelings help us know what's good for us. When we block, suppress or repress our feelings, we cut off an important source of information about our lives. The Cancer New Moon is very powerful, so make sure you plant healthy emotional seeds for your renewed emotional body.

This Cancer New Moon is in a delightful relationship with Neptune, who is moving through his own sign of Pisces. Neptune's realms are polluted, both the outer oceans and our inner unconscious. He's cleaning out both. Someone will be making a lot of money when they clean up the miles of garbage floating in the ocean. But who will clean up your inner psyche of images and beliefs that no longer serve you--or do violence to your soul? Only you! And this is your chance to do it.

With Neptune offering his spiritual imagination to this New Moon, we can begin to heal our soul and fine-tune our psyche by looking at our beliefs. Perhaps we can let go of old karma regarding security and needs. What are the stories we tell ourselves about life? Are they old stories in need of renewal? Do they give us faith and hope in the future? Do they expect the best of us? What other way is there for us but to work for a more positive future? It is your inner consciousness which will draw to you the people and situations you need now. Stay open to the dreams and messages coming to you from the Collective Unconscious.

The Sabian symbol for Neptune at 8* Pisces is: A girl blowing a trumpet triumphantly. This image speaks to a spiritual awakening, one brought about by Feminine Spirit. It's time to clear the way for the future. Don't turn your back on the world--we need everyone if we want a better government and better way of life. This awakening trumpet calls us to a new vision of life.

Neptune in Pisces squares Venus and Juno in Gemini, challenging us to let go of old karmic patterns of thinking that keep us tied to the past. With renewal comes new connections, new ideas and new perspectives on love and relationship.

Jupiter brings an expanded sense of Self to Cancer, a 'big picture' understanding of the cosmic events that are shaping us. Jupiter held down the 4th leg of April's Cardinal Cross and 5th Pluto/Uranus square along with Mars in Libra. I'm hoping that Jupiter's energy in Cancer brought home to us that we are all one people; that nobody deserves to be violated by rape, war, hunger or the terror of violence. Our hearts and imaginations need to open wide to encompass the whole world, and hopefully Jupiter did that for us. Jupiter will be ending his stay in Cancer on July 16, heading into Leo for the next 12 months.

Jupiter in Cancer squares the Nodes in Libra and Aries, pushing for a re-alignment of masculine and feminine values and energy. We would live in a different society if we accepted women's ways of knowing alongside masculine rationality. We have to understand what our emotional body is capable of so we can free ourselves from patriarchal 'independence' and move into balanced 'interdependence'.

The Sabian symbol for Jupiter at 26* Cancer is: The Library of an old Tudor Manor: A man sits in an overstuffed Green chair and rehearses an argument. This symbol speaks to an identity firmly established within a broad understanding of life which wants to present its point of view. With all that wealth of knowledge around it, the man obviously needs to make his point--he's emotionally engaged to do it. The challenge of the North Node to Jupiter is to stand up for our spiritual truths as well.

The Sabian symbol for the North Node at 26* Libra is: A resplendent Krishna enters the battlefield on his chariot. This is a symbol that urges us to carry our spiritual vision into the world. Krishna, the wise guide of the Bhagavad Gita, shows us we must be fearless in expressing our beliefs about life and death.

Since Cancer and the Moon are feminine archetypes, this month is a good time to become aware of how the Feminine operates in your life. On June 28th, Venus, the Goddess of Love, Sexuality and Wisdom joins the asteroid Juno/Hera, the Goddess of Marriage and Partnership at 7* Gemini. What happens when we bring deep love, great sex and wise choices to our relationships? That's what Venus and Hera can give us. The Sabian symbol for 7* Gemini is: An old well, full of pure water, shaded by trees. What a beautiful symbol for the re-uniting of the power of love and the power of relationship! The Divine Feminine offers us the 'living waters', pure love, guarded by life itself.

On July 5th, Ceres/Demeter, the Mother Goddess joins Vesta/Hestia, the Goddess of the Hearth Fire at 22* Libra, the sign of balance and harmony. This is the first time since September 16, 1705 they've joined together in Libra with the North Node and it won't happen again until November 14, 2202. This rare conjunction suggests that our nurturing nature needs renewal in the fires that Vesta guards. Patriarchy has twisted how women nurture children, valuing boys over girls, rules over guidance. It's time to change how we mother our children. It's time to teach them what life's all about rather than what the economy needs from them. It's time to renew our relationships. These conjunctions occur along with conjunctions with Mars, the masculine warrior archetype and the Libra North Node, giving it even more power and focus.

The Sabian symbol for Ceres and Vesta at 22* Libra is: A gushing fountain of water, seemingly motionless at its peak. This symbol shows us the power of focused emotions. Movement and stillness at once. Deepen your awareness of what your individual needs are and hold them in the stillness of your heart. Everything flows from our emotional life. It is our choice if it flows consciously or shoots out unconsciously.

Mercury is still retrograde until July 1st and it forms a positive alignment with Ceres, Vesta and the North Node. Perhaps we'll be able to accommodate new ideas about fairness and balance in the relationship between the sexes. Saturn in Scorpio still trines Chiron in Pisces helping us heal our old relationship karma and wounds. It feels like we're being emotionally healed so we can face our future with power and love. We'll see how well we do by the Capricorn Full Moon in two weeks, when the full Moon squares Mars, Ceres, Vesta and the North Node. Work on it!

The Sun in Cancer becomes the 4th leg of the ongoing Cardinal Grand Cross, bringing us conscious awareness to the cosmic challenge to change. On July 4th, the Cancer Sun opposes Pluto at 13* Capricorn; on July 8th, the Sun squares Uranus at 17* Aries; on July 18th, the Sun squares Mars at 27* Libra. This intense energy will begin to dissipate once the Sun enters Leo on July 22nd and Mars enters Scorpio on July 25th.

Take time to re-enter the Womb this Cancer New Moon and settle yourself into a healthy, new, inspired emotional body that will carry you into the future.
