Their job is to become a scribe and become inscribed in the book of history. If they write this down, then Kingly will not like them and there goes the book deal.
Then there are other more insidious ways that Legion doesn’t get on the ballot. Or once on the ballot doesn’t get her message to the people who would vote for her if they knew what she was saying. It is clear that they too know that Kingly has no clothes on but what they do not know is that everyone else is seeing that too. They need to be told it is okay, that their views are valid and don’t have to be approved by the pundits who yell and scream at them every day about what Kingly is doing and how it is good.
Many, many women whose names are Legion have tried and failed or keep trying and find the way in the door to the Halls of Congress. Once there, they can decide which path to follow. Some follow along with Kingly and while they wear their pearls and laugh at his jokes, they too know but do not care that he wears no clothes. Others, who have come in and seen what has happened and don’t like it at all need to help those who see the nakedness and want to help to change our land into one where the rule book is not a joke and something to be put aside when it is time to consider the ballot.
All in all, Legion needs a lot of support from people who think the rule book is important and are going after Kingly to pay attention to it and at least put his pants on. Then there are those who think the rule book is just that, a book, and they care little for what it says inside but the problem is, they are the Powerful Friends of Kingly.
In the end of this story, there is no end yet. It is up to the reader of the story to decide how it should end. You, dear reader, have that power if only you use it.
