Abortion should be a choice left up to the individual, not a self righteous, haughty, self important, puffed up persons like Sarah Palin and John McCain. We are kind enough to euthanize animals when we see them in pain with no recourse for recovery. Are they more important than human beings? Our government is very close to becoming a dictatorship. To avoid this we must stand together to prevent those individuals, who would rewrite our Constitution to benefit their own agenda, from gaining access to powerful government positions. We must look beyond the promises made during political campaign speeches and review their past records.
Palin and McCain have shown that they have both lied to cover up their misdeeds. I would rather have someone with less experience and more moral fortitude than a person who has already shown an inability to tell the truth. Once a liar, always a liar. Put yourself into the shoes of a woman raped. Would YOU want to raise a child of rape? Could YOU honestly say you could love that child? Or, would it always be a reminder of how it came to be? Remember, it could happen to you or a person you love. Honesty is harder to come by when it means you are the one going through the hellish experience. To say, "Sure, I could do it!" is easy enough until you feel the pinch of the shoes that belong to another and you find yourself walking a mile of unfamiliar territory.
