| An alternative to antibiotics could mean no more superbug. Luckily, scientists have been working on alternatives, finally creating the first antibiotic-free drug to treat bacterial infections. In small trials, the drug was effective at ridding the body of the MRSA superbug, which is notoriously resistant to antibiotics. The researchers explain that the treatment isn't as likely to experience the same resistance antibiotics have seen, since it doesn't tackle infections the same way an antibiotic would. |
