Recently, Garlasco and his colleagues at Human Rights Watch spent several weeks in the Gaza Strip to study the aftermath of the Israeli attacks in late 2008 and early 2009, in which 1,400 Palestinians died. Human Rights Watch released a report on March 26 that included evidence of the Israeli military's alleged violations of the laws of war, especially through the use of white phosphorus and the firing of artillery shells. |
