Leaders Lead, Pushers Push

A great leader steps out first and others will follow his lead because they have faith in his wisdom and his judgment.  A poor leader must push and force his people because they are unwilling to follow him and distrustful of his lead.

If george bush is such a great leader, why did we have to go into this war, basically by ourselves.  A great leader, wouldn't have fudged the information.   A great leader wouldn't have needed to.  A great leader,  if he did feel that ousting Saddam was something that needed to be done, would have gone to the UN told the truth, explained the living conditions of the people of Iraq and tried his level best to get the support of the entire United Nations.  A great leader would have taken his time, planned out his war and his peace.  A great leader would have had united support and enough troops to eradicate out any hostile invaders in Iraq.  A great leader would have had a plan and the support to see that plan through.

If george bush is such a great leader, why aren't other countries helping us with the reconstruction of Iraq.  A great leader would have gone to the UN, explained the problems he has run into in this "winning the peace" time of the war.  A great leader would have shown pictures of what was done, what is being done, and what needs to be done.  A great leader would have explained to the UN that the country was in bad shape due to the years of the sanctions and the carelessness of Saddam.  A great leader would have said something like, "I understand that you were against the US entering into this war and I appreciate your disagreement.  I am not here to ask for help for the United States, I am here to ask for help for the people of Iraq.  They have had to suffer through so much and now they deserve to live their lives again.  I am here to ask you if you will help us help those people."  A great leader would not have gone to the UN at a time like this and told the members that they should crack down on sexual slave trade.  A great leader knows when to give, when to cooperate, when to concede error and a great leader knows diplomacy.

If george bush is such a great leader why does he not have an exit strategy that he could share with us?  A great leader would never commit this country to war without having a plan to end the war and bring home the troops.  A great leader would not allow the American people to bear this enormous financial burden alone.  A great leader would put the people of his country first, in war and in peace.

A great leader becomes great, because he does great things for his people and makes their lives better.  A great leader receives that designation because the people give it to him, as a result of what he has done for them.  George bush is not a great leader, he is not even a leader at all.    A great leader is in front, moving out ahead and showing the way.  A great leader steps out first and others will follow his lead because they have faith in his wisdom and his judgment.  A poor leader must push and force his people because they are unwilling to follow him and distrustful of his lead.  George bush is not a great leader.  George bush is a pusher.

I am a mom to Murphy (my precious pup) and Fred (my occasionally precious cat).
I share my life, my laughter, my world and all of my love with my husband and have for 16 years.
I would describe myself as a very sentimental and sensitive person who is forever willing to share my point of view whether or not it has been requested of me.  This article is copyright by Patricia Ernest,  originally published by opednews.com Permission is granted to forward this or to place it on a website as long as the article is included intact, including this statement.  New!
