More ominously with each passing day, it appears that the three branches of "our" government do not pursue the best interests of the electorate but rather are directed and apparently rewarded from elsewhere. But, to quote Butch Cassidy: "Who are those guys?" And where are they leading us?

The first suspects are greed-mongering American corporate interests, a notion upon which a friend of mine remarks, that if true, judging from the current state of the American economy, such a structure may now just fall apart.
Yes, that would appear to be a reasonable possibility, and if so it could mean foreign domination -- the first master candidate perhaps being China -- or perhaps something indeed more ominous, that is exposure of the delusion that our current masters are American rather than -- not international -- but a nation-less cabal of power-elite individuals, imposing an economic stranglehold enforced by their military servants, and with no identity or common bond beyond their small ring of conspiratorial fellows. Such as the Bilderburg Group comes to mind, but we can't dismiss the possibility that even such as they may be the stalking horse for perhaps a smaller, more exclusive, darker gang.
It's interesting that in the repression of labor unions, the exportation of American jobs, the cheapening of U.S. currency, the open burgling of our treasury, and the costs of security-statism and of the endless wars for greed -- they have destroyed the world's richest market, namely the U.S.
One wonders seriously if this somehow fits into their grand strategy, or was it simply ignorance of where their insatiable greed and lust for power could take them?
What happens next? No one outside the cabal has a clue, not our duplicitous political leadership, not our learned economists and political "scientists," certainly no media guru of whatever moronic perspective or exploitive persuasion. Perhaps not even the cabal itself, who -- not unlike the most crafty quarterback -- is quite capable of getting blind-sided or to fumble the ball when going for the killer touchdown.
