I bet if a bunch of teachers won, their board of education attorney wouldn't be making the announcement. The article says that Attorney Tim Michaels, representing GMTR Investments "...he did not identify the individual winners or say how many there were..." It looks like the business itself gets the cash - or is it just me?

INDIANAPOLIS – The winners of the $163.2 million Powerball drawing on Jan. 17 are a group of people from Cincinnati.

Attorney Tim Michaels, representing GMTR Investments, claimed the prize Friday at the Hoosier Lottery headquarters. He did not identify the individual winners or say how many there were.

Michaels said his clients elected to take the cash option and received a one-time lump sum payment of $97,966,541 before taxes.

The winning ticket was bought at a Circle K convenience store in Lawrenceburg, Ind., an Ohio River community near Cincinnati.

“From what I understand, they like Powerball better than what they can get in the Ohio Lottery,” Michaels said.

The winning numbers were: 2, 5, 9, 23, 59 and the Powerball was 26. The Power Play multiplier was 2.

“They are very appreciative,” Michaels said of his clients. “To the Lottery Commission, thank you.”

This is the second time in less than a year that a lottery jackpot exceeding $100 million has been won by someone in Southwest Ohio.

Last June, the winner of a $196 million MegaMillions jackpot claimed their prize. The ticket was sold at an Amelia store. The winner claimed the prize through a blind trust, to avoid being identified publicly.

Powerball is played in 30 states, Washington D.C. and the U.S. Virgin Islands. It is available in Kentucky but not Ohio.
