There is some sarcasm in this entry. I feel it is justified. So are the 'generalizations' I am making. My words are not written in stone. Try having a 'sense of humor'.

::::::::

It must have been close to 20-years ago, when my best friend, Mike, and I, watched an 'Oprah Winfrey'
show together.

The guest speaker was discussing his research, and which involved a comparison of penis and brain size among Caucasians, Asians and 'African Americans'. (although I do not believe the latter was the 'politically correct' name for black people at the time)

His research had shown a significant correlation between 'penis size', and the size of brains.
More so, there was a significant distinction in this matter between Whites, Blacks, and Asians.
The man reported, that black men had on average the largest penises, and the smallest brains. Asians, on the other hand, had been determined to have the largest brains, and the smallest penises. White folks were in the middle. Their penises were larger than that of Asian men, and smaller than those of black men. Their brains were bigger than those of black men, and smaller than that of Asian men.

As soon as he had completed his last sentence, there was no stopping to the outrage coming from the audience. I will leave the details up to your imagination. I believe there were no fatalities, at least not before the show ended.

Mike was a middle class Jew from New York. He also happened to be brilliant, and he was gay. He jumped up in tune with the audience. I could hardly believe, that he would become emotionally upset by this man's statements suggesting more than a touch of 'discrimination', and 'prejudice'.

As it turned out, his response was in response to the response from the audience. (and particularly to the outrage, and fury coming from it's black members)

"Are you 'nuts'?" Mike exclaimed. "What the hell is wrong with you! I would not hesitate before giving up half of my brain in exchange for an extra one or two inches to my penis.
Do you really think, I, or any woman for that matter, cares more about the size of your brain than the size of your penis? You should be thrilled by this research. If anyone has reason to be upset, it's the poor Asians."

The point to this story. Not everyone thinks like you do.

Oprah Winfrey is one of the most highly respected, watched, trusted, and beloved 'public figures' in this country. And even she messes up, as demonstrated by her choosing of that day's guest speaker.

Of course, "Progressive Liberals" have the duty to hate and despise her, because she is wealthy. Or does she have some leeway, because she is black? And I forgot, she was abused as a kid. Add a couple of plus points to the 'negative' equation?

As most of you know, Oprah made a huge donation to the victims of 'Hurricane Katrina', and she even showed up for herself. Being wealthy certainly does not guarantee such actions, but it makes them possible. It makes them happen, as well. Oprah is not the only one. (She is though, a public one) This is not the case when you are poor, or just getting by, no matter how much you care.

I feel there is a huge prejudice on this site against 'everyone' who has money, or is wealthy. It's as strong as the prejudice we, or you, once had against 'black people', or Hitler against Jews. You don't even know anything about them. Neither do I . But the ones I do know about are not at all like you describe them. It's not their fault, how the taxes are distributed. If anything, there are some who have an involvement in the politics of that matter. It's 'foolish', and it makes people not take you seriously. It's beneath you.

I believe, a 'sense of humor' is a must, if you want to keep things in perspective. And that includes the ability, to laugh at yourself. I believe, our publisher, Rob Kall, has the necessary 'sense of humor'. It does not take away from how serious things are.
