Amidst much complaining about Obama selecting so many Washington insiders to staff his team, I trust that he will not tolerate business as usual where it jeopardizes the agenda. He is picking veterans of capitol politics because they have the skills, contacts, and street-wise awareness to get things done expeditiously. Rest assured, he's going to be "the boss."Here is an excerpt from the Washington Post article on the matter:
"The transformative part of his presidency is the president himself," said Douglas W. Kmiec, a Pepperdine University law professor who served in the Reagan and George H.W. Bush administrations and supported Obama. "The most important voice for change is his. And change is accomplished in our system not by erasing all of the lines on paper but by having people who understand government's structure and so can reinforce lines that have been wrongfully distorted or broken in terms of separation of powers."
The team he is building will move swiftly after January 20th, and they will have the savvy to make things happen. You and I, dear reader, need to stay watchful in our waiting, and sound off if things don't proceed according to the agenda.
