I believe that the Honorable Representative Nancy Pelosi made a promise to George W. Bush, to keep impeachment off the table if elected to be Speaker of the House, in exchange for one or several of the following:
A) a mostly fair 2006 midterm election fight free from widespread election fraud
B) promises that Congress members and their staff would not be attacked with weapons like anthrax
C) promises that Americans would not be attacked in another false flag terror attack by government insiders like we were on 9-11-2001.
If Ms. Pelosi struck a deal to either A) keep democracy viable, B) suppress barely concealed intimidation and assassination attempts, or C) protect Americans from terroristic mass murder, thereby preventing the formal suspension of Constitutional order by imposition of martial law, then by all means Ms. Pelosi should abide by the letter of her verbal contract to stop these threatening and abhorrent abominations from subverting what little structure remains in our government and to protect the innocent from further unnecessary bloodshed.
A verbal promise to keep impeachment off the table to protect American children would be a deal with the devil that acknowledges the reality that some people and groups are capable of great evil and carnage.
If you believe that the attacks of 9-11 could only have been perpetrated by insiders with unfettered access to set synchronized demolition charges on every single load bearing column of WTC buildings 1, 2, and 7 (Research it for yourself: www.911truth.org), then you know that the trigger men are cold-blooded murderers willing to draw blood to advance their agenda.
I happen to believe that George W. Bush is a man of his word, (with both a public and private persona that are distinct in degrees of truthfulness- I don't trust a word from Bush's mouth when it is spoken publicly, but he seems to engender trust among his insiders) He is notoriously loyal and I think it is possible that he can be trusted to keep a personal promise or a verbal contract. Even the mafia Godfathers have a real code of conduct and values that keep their families loyal and hierarchies orderly. Don't cross that line, pay your tribute, and they will likely leave well enough alone. I believe that George W. Bush actually holds back and restrains some more volatile forces with rather dastardly, violent contingency plans as long as he is guaranteed a legacy free of actual impeachment.
Every time impeachment is dusted off and gets the airplay it deserves, some Bush minion like Michael Cherthoff calls a press conference together to broadcast a thinly veiled threat of a gut feeling that the terrorists are ready to strike again. The Democratic leadership understands those not so subtle warning shots across the bow without requiring a shotgun blast of bird shot in the face. Message: Keep impeachment formally off the table or else.
Hence, I suggest that Nancy Pelosi keep her promises right down to the finest detail, so that children in her district and others may play and parents may work toward and pray for incremental changes for the better. Nobody will benefit if Americans are forced into a violent confrontation. Better, it is my hope that even the power hungry mad men can be tempted to do the right thing when win-win situations preserve face and allow us to live and let live.
All that said, let the Judiciary Committee sharpen the rhetoric so that Impeachment can grow as a credible threat to be used if any major shenanigans take place. Leveraging this power to impeach without actually placing it "on the table" will provide some negotiating power to stop the most heinous events from coming to light. Let the lines be clearly drawn so that the players know their limits.
Barring use of impeachment, hints of coming out with the full unvarnished truth in a grandiose confessional statement could potentially sanitize and neutralize any threats given proper exposure.
Being on the outside looking in, I can only hope and pray for the quick passage of time without abominable infamous event. Speaker Pelosi, please keep your deal with the devil and ensure that he keeps true to his word.
