A while ago I wrote to you regarding my opposition to the war in Iraq. More recent events have caused me to take a broader look at the current administration and the way they have been operating.First, just recently I listened to the Presidents press conference and when asked about the fact that the public is not in support of his policies he said that he will not let public opinion change what he feels is correct. That statement shows that he has no understanding of what our constitution is about. He clearly said that he does not care about the will of the people and the principles on which our government was founded. He feels that he can and should do whatever he feels is right.
Second, he ignores Congress. He has blocked every initiative the Congress has made in an attempt (so far successfully) to maintain unlimited power. I believe he does not care what the Congress says or does (just like he doesn't care what the public thinks).
Third, he has controlled the information flow that comes out of all Government agencies by controlling those he has put in charge of running the agencies and then mandating that all reports will be reviewed. The editing done on Dr. James Henson's report on Global Warming to downplay the conclusion is just one example. He controls the information in order to control what the Congress, the media, and the public thinks is truth; it is a deliberate attempt to deceive the Congress and the people. I think such actions are a serious abuse of presidential power and I am sure the founding fathers would see such action as unconstitutional.
Fourth, he has made moves that is changing the justice system to provide rulings that give "authority" to whatever he wants to do. The secret prison camps, the torture, the spying on anyone and everyone, and replacing of federal prosecutors are some examples. He is using his "executive privileges" to thwart any chance of finding out what he has done and is doing.
The above four points are why I think George Bush is operating in an Unconstitutional way and should be removed from the Office of the President.
Sincerely, Philip B. Pease
The following is my conjecture as to the motives of George Bush and the direction he plans to take the United States. I think his motive is greed and his method is to control the oil supply.
From seeing the movie "Fahrenheit 911" I learned that the Bush family is in the oil business and has close ties to the bin-Laden family and the house of Saud. The Bush family and their friends have become very rich. So my conclusion is the reason we went to war against Iraq was to gain control of Iraq's oil.
I think he controlled what the intelligence agency was saying regarding what was going in Iraq and ties to the 9/11 attackers. I think he used a combination of documents that they (the intelligence agency) knew were not reliable and downright fabrications. I think they leaked a version of the story they wanted to tell to the press. They then sent various administrative spokespersons to the TV interview shows to discuss the news report in order to give the impression that some person has uncovered proof that Iraq has WMDs and is in league with terrorists to use these WMDs against us. The Congress and public thought they knew what was going on from reports from what they believed is an "independent" press. Any attempts to identify the news leak has been squashed; but we do know that the story was NOT TRUE.
I think that George Bush (and his family and friends of the oil dynasties) realize that the world has reached the point where oil production is peaked and that from now on oil is going to be a scarce commodity and it's value will go up ever steeper. If you control oil you control the world, all countries who need oil will have to bow-down to he who has oil to sell.
It is now being reported that Iranian made weapons have been discovered in Iraq implying that Iran is supporting terrorism (something the administration has been telling us for quite a while). I am now reading reports that Dick Cheney is pushing George Bush to use military force against Iran. All this sounds to me like the plan is to attack Iran (so as to secure that oil source) is already in motion.
His plan is working well so far and I see no signs that he intends to change course throughout the rest of his term in office (he has said as much). He will invade Iran and will leave the next President with the following situation... Oil will have started to flow in Iraq and consequently there will be companies with "investments" who will be calling on the USA military to protect them and their investment in the strategic oil resource. We will be fighting in Iran and consequently all oil has been shut down there (making for oil shortages world-wide) and resulting in the cost of oil to continue upward. The continued fighting throughout the mid-east will be a source of great profits for the entire military-industrial complex. All these big companies will be exerting their influence and pressure on every member of Congress and the President to continue the fighting. Both the "war on terror" and the "need to protect our strategic interests" will be used in justifying continual war.
George Bush has used the fight against terrorism as justification for using the US military might not to defend our country but to invade another country so as to take control over their oil resources. I think he believes that his actions are good for business and good for our countries economic well being. I doubt he even questions the morality of killing thousands and destroying the lives of Iraqi citizens or even the lives of American and allied military personnel. Now that I've arrived at the conclusion that he thinks that it is worth whatever the cost to accomplish his plan to secure oil I have to wonder if the attacks on 9/11 were not part of the plan (a secret operation carried out with the support of the Saudi and bin-Laden families). The fact that he has not brought Osama to justice and seems to have no interest in doing that is another reason to wonder what the truth is. I have heard rumors that Carl Rove suggested that what we need is some sort of attack on US soil sometime prior to the 9/11 attacks. Since the large outcry against the war I would not be all that surprised if there is another terrorist attack against the US just because it would help galvanized support for this war.
The Prime Minister of Australia admitted that he is fighting in Iraq for access to the oil they need. I suspect George offered this deal to Australia and others who supported this war in Iraq.
I think that when the issue of global warming came to the public eye George Bush reasoned that anything that cuts the use of oil is bad for profits and so he took action to cast doubt on the reality of global warming (by editing scientific reports) and to stop states (California) from regulating emissions via legal maneuvering. Why is he doing this? To keep us dependant on oil.
I think that Congress should bring impeachment proceedings against George Bush and Dick Cheney in order to determine (question witnesses without George Bush being able to block such investigation) whether or not the administration lied to Congress regarding the reasons for our attack on Iraq and to attempt to determine if they had foreknowledge of the 9/11 attacks.
Perhaps you are in agreement with the George Bush plan for world domination and the immorality of killing thousands is of no consequence; that the importance of oil to our civilizations way of life supports the use of whatever means necessary to secure that precious resource. I, for one, choose a crash program to eliminate our need for oil (and other fossil fuels) so that our relationship with other peoples of the world can be based on benevolence not on a need to steal their resources to support our habit. Of course George Bush is against this as he is in the oil business.
Perhaps you think I am just being paranoid in my belief as to what is going on with this President; however all that has transpired seems, to me, to give credence to the conclusions I have reached. If my conclusions are in fact true then the USA has a Constitutional crisis; as the President has taken over complete control of the government for himself. He is not serving the will of the people; but only his own interests.
Only Congress, through the Constitutional process of impeachment has any chance of finding the truth or of getting us out of this mess we have created in the mid-east. I urge you to consider action to stop what I see is the most serious threat to our Constitution that has ever existed. The “madness of King George” needs to be stopped right now.
