Bush / Cheney / Cohorts exhorbitant salaries

I'm fairly certain most citizens have no idea what the president of the USA's yearly salary is.  On the day George W. Bush was inaugurated - January 20, 2001 it was $200,000.  He doubled it to $400,000.00 immediately and little by little raised all the other cabinet members and pertinant people's salaries in his constiutuency. No-one voted on these raises, they just took place!  I find it so beautiful - The worst US president in history, gives himself a raise - the highest in US history.  What's wrong here?  I think one of the first things that should happen is George W. Bush should have to pay back, with interest $200,000.00 X 8 years = $1,600,000.00 to start with.  It's purely criminal he gets that kind of money, when since his inauguration, he's sent our country on a downward spiral, the likes of which we can only hope will never be repeated, in anyones lifetime!
