Since you are focusing on deaths--killing off of votes in Kansas since August, as I flamboyantly called in the title--, I plugged in the following in a search engine "kansas covid rates death".

The CDC etc. and other links show massive increases in death rate increasing monthly from August onwards. The highest death date in Kansas for March through May was about 12 deaths in a single

By October through November we see numbers of deaths raging from 12 to 45 to 50 to 85 on some days.

Quite obviously from the time that kids went back to school in August numbers of death have grown greatly from the March to May period.
