I want to thank you all for your thoughtful comments. Never before has a column of mine had so many hits in such a short time, nor has any column received so many comments. Obviously, I have touched a nerve. Thanks to the supporters for your agreement. As to those who disagree, if, to pick just two examples, one can find a middle ground between those who would criminalize any belief about when life begins other than that it begins at the moment of conception and those who do not, and those who believe that human-caused climate change is scientifically established and major international programs must be started NOW to alleviate it and those who call that thinking a hoax, I would love to see that middle ground. I have looked for it since I wrote my 1996 book "The 15% Solution" (https://www.amazon.com/15-Solution-Steve-Jonas/dp/0984026347/ref=sr_1_1?s=books&ie=UTF8&qid=1479660269&sr=1-1&keywords=The+15%25+Solut. ) and I have never been able to find it.
