Petraeus and Ryan Crocker, the US ambassador to Iraq, are to appear before the Senate Armed Services and Foreign Relations committees to give congressionally mandated testimony about US strategy in Iraq.Petraeus will have to explain to legislators why the US didn?t know about the American-backed Iraqi government?s offensive well in advance, and whether the surge drop in violence may have been temporary...
