| with all the time he gives you |
| and all the stars within view |
| you let the now pass you by |
| your yesterdays they kill you |
| and looking for tomorrow is not true |
| how do you spend the time before you die |
| with eyes all sullen and sunken |
| and true friends gone off both lost and drunken |
| he should not have gone and not say why |
| days and nights are each misshapen |
| your dreams found all mistaken |
| and you fell all out of lies |
| the voices speak to your demons |
| your doctor told you to forget any treatments |
| for God has lost all of his surprise |
| where your Main Street ends in shatterred roads |
| shadows follow in unrequited lover's throes |
| why even think you could ever try |
| crimes of passion and sighs of great relief |
| have never been within your psychic motif |
| awash once with tears your eyes go dry |
| perhaps your clouds of gloom |
| will finally pass and make room |
| for eternity's long black night |
